Chapter 20

"Where are you taking me, Demon General?" Astrea said with hatred.

"Away from my home," Hansel replied, a giant sword swung his way and he stopped it right before it hit his face with his hands and shattered it, before calmly looking at the many passersby who looked horrified.

Several magic circles appeared over their head. He erased their memories while dodging a physical attack from Astrea, knocking her off her feet before they teleported away underneath a magic circle.

They appeared in the desert and Astrea continued attacking him, but Hansel didn't do anything, he just continued dodging. He was trying to figure out how to separate her from Annabelle's body because he could tell there wasn't a formal contract.

"Why aren't you fighting back?" she said. "You're a coward, just as the stories describe you to be."

A magic circle appeared beneath her and she noticed it before it could be activated and jumped from it, and the ground sank.

"What are you here for, child?" he said calmly.

"To bring you to justice," she said firmly.

"What have I done?" Hansel replied, before she spoke, he said, "If you say anything about the war, then you don't get to judge me."

"You took the lives of innocent humans," she said fiercely, her hair becoming longer and blonde and her eyes turned golden.

"Am I the only one being punished for fighting the war?" he asked, stretching out his hand. She didn't need to reply, Hansel already knew the answer and he laughed. "Of course I am," he said, he stretched out his hand and grabbed his sword.

The impact caused a large burst of wind and the sand flew everywhere, but Astrea stood her ground.

"If you want to judge me, then you'd have to beat me first," he said.

Nathan was at home drinking tea with his mother and seemingly looking into space. "Is everything alright?" his mom asked

"Yes," he replied, sipping his tea.

Niel looked at his twin brother feeling uncomfortable. 'It's like a cat looking into the unknown,' he thought.

Although it looks like Nathan is looking at nothing, he's watching Hansel. 'The daughter of the Goddess of Justice, huh?' he thought. 'She's too weak to do any damage to him... I can't be too sure though.'

He got up and went to his room without saying a word. Everyone was used to his strange behavior since he's been behaving this way since the day he was born.

If the therapist hadn't said there was nothing wrong with him, then they would have sent him to a mental hospital because he clearly wasn't normal.

He never cried and was very mature for his age, he never acted like a child and has proven several times he is perfectly capable of taking care of himself, this made his parents worry because they only got to see one child grow.

When he entered his room, he slept in his bed. Why is he sleeping instead of going to Hansel? Well, he knows that Hansel would be upset if he physically appeared, so he's going to appear there using astral projection because he doesn't want to see Hansel get upset with him.

Hansel dodged all of Astrea's attacks without moving much, he didn't even get to use his sword. She's fighting as if she's trying to prove or earn something, in short, it is desperate and pathetic. She's also incredibly slow and her strength is just a bit above average.

He quickly got bored and tripped her. "Are you sure you are the daughter of the Goddess of Justice and not some fraud?" he said.

He bent down and checked on her. He saw that she was crying. He's used to people crying when they know they've lost and are about to die.

But she got up and began stomping her feet. "It's not fair!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. "If most of my powers weren't sealed away, I'd be able to beat you," she said pointing at him. She felt infuriated, she never thought she wouldn't be able to beat him.

'Is-- Is she throwing a tantrum?' he thought funnily looking at her.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" she demanded angrily.

Hansel was incredibly irritated with her. "How old are you for you to be behaving like a child?" he retorted.

"My age is none of your business," she snarled.

"Are you an old lady or something?" Hansel said and his face was filled with disgust. He's heard of old women taking over young women's bodies.

"Of course not!" Astrea exclaimed. "I'm even younger than your surprisingly sweet brother!" she said aggressively. "Are you sure you are not brainwashing him, he's too nice to be associated with the likes of you!"

"So how old are you?" Hansel said, if she's still a child, a teenager, but still classified as a child and he tries not to hurt children.

"Are you into young girls or something?" she said sassily as she crossed her arms. "Disgusting pervert."

"Shut up! First of all, I don't like entitled brats like you..." he said pointing at her in annoyance. "Second, I'm engaged," he said, then showed his familiar mark.

"That's a familial mark," Astrea pointed out. "Are you some sort of sex slave?"

"What! Of course not! Where would you get such an idea!"

'The owner of this body's novels,' she thought, feeling a bit flustered, she cleared her throat. "Anyway, it's only because I haven't unlocked most of my powers that's why you were able to beat me," she said.

"I didn't even touch you, you tripped yourself," Hansel replied blankly, he then sighed. "I've wasted time here," he said, he was about to cast a spell to leave.

"Wait!" Astrea exclaimed just the magic circles were about to leave.

"What?" Hansel replied blankly.

"You can't just leave me here!" she said.

He raised an eyebrow at her. "Why not?" he said. "You are going to be more than a pain in the behind and I don't need more problems in my life."

Astrea began acting shy. "I don't have a lot of mana since it was sealed off, so--"

"And how is that my concern?" he replied blankly.

"You brought me here!"

"I was defending myself!"

"You broke my favorite sword!"

"Who uses a regular sword to fight a demon?"

"You are not in a place to demand things from me," she said pridefully, crossing his arms.

Hansel felt his eyebrows twitch. "I'm sure Felix would save you, bye."

"Don't leave me, I beg of you!" she said hurriedly, tearing up.

"Crocodile tears don't work on me, child," Hansel said coldly, leaving her.

Astrea knelt and began to cry. Her mother, the beloved Goddess of Justice, sealed away her divine powers and told her she needed to earn her abilities back, and maybe earn her halo in the process.

Her mother who was never in her life, only appeared when she got into trouble once and made her nothing, not even her father could help her out. She lost everything, her position, her honor, and her image.

She came to this world to earn it back, fortunately, Felix didn't know of her predicament thanks to her father not telling him.

She opens her eyes and sees herself in Hansel's living room. The room was surrounded by demons, Hansel was sitting on the couch and pinched the bridge of his nose and Jamie looked relieved.

"I thought you weren't going to bring me back?" she said, snorting.

"Thank him," Hansel said pointing at Jamie.

"Are you alright?" Jamie asked.

Astrea wiped her tears. "How can an angel like you be brothers with a demon?" she said. She took in several deep breaths and got up taking in a deep breath then walked to the door. "I will get you next time!"

Hansel pinched the bridge of his nose. 'She's going to be a pain in my ass from now on, isn't she?' he thought.

"I'm glad she's alright," Jamie said smiling.

"You are too kind for your own good," Lilth said shaking her head.

"I'm going to sleep," Hansel said getting up. "Don't disturb me." This is the perfect time to escape reality.
