Not only was I stunned by the fact that Lisa had lost her pregnancy, I was even more surprised by the fact that Mark had gone along with the plan. I never thought he had the guts to pull it off, and just to make sure that the plan didn't fail, Icarus had given me a different task, one that would have acted as back up if Mark had chickened out midway.
As I walked towards the clinic to show my fake sympathy for Lisa, I caught sight of Klaus's departing figure. The look on his face wasn't a pleasant one, and I could tell with one look that he wasn't in the mood to entertain conversations. Regardless, I walked up to him, a sad look visible on my face.
The moment he caught sight of me, his brows arched suspiciously and he paused after I had stepped in his way.
"What is it? What do you want this time?!" He asked in a hoarse and unappealing tone, his eyes red with fury and hidden disappointment.
