I Love You...

Klaus

My eyes remained focused on Maeve's, searching every corner of her soul to pick up any hint of oddness in her character. The doctors believed stress could have caused the miscarriage and sudden deterioration of Lisa's health, but I didn't believe one word of it. Lisa hadn't shown any signs of being stressed for the past week. I'll admit she wasn't exactly the happiest person these past few days, but I wouldn't say that was stress.

"I had nothing to do with what happened to Lisa, I wasn't even home yesterday." Maeve argued, her voice steady, and her eyes steeled with resolve. She seemed to be telling the truth, but at the same time there was a way for me to tell if she was lying or not. I hadn't really paid attention to anybody besides Lisa since the moment I laid eyes on her yesterday. Maeve could be lying, and I had no way to confirm her words.
