Meeting you again

Azrael leaned at the edge of the desk, facing the glass walls.

His hands were in his pockets and his legs were crossed. He was staring blankly at the night lights outside the windows, the glittering nightscape and the agonizing cries from behind him weren't deterring his brain from thinking of that particular day.

Until now, his face would darken every time he would remember Knox's words.

'Let's stop here, Azrael.'

Stopping is impossible, Azrael answered in his head. He could give Knox space, but completely erasing himself from his life would never happen.

'You scare me.'

What else can he do? It was already part of himself before they met. He's willing to change, but Knox needs to give him time, not abandon him.

'I don't want to be involved with you and your family again.'

"No, baby…the moment you walk into my life, you're already involved," Azrael whispered.
