Su Hai was taken to the best doctors Spirit City had to offer. Her life wasn't in danger; she was a cultivator, and an injury like that wouldn't kill her. However, her recovery was vital for the coming battles.

"They've started attacking!?" Shen Tai asked as Li Jun stood before him. Despite his years in the army, the thought of an invasion still made his face pale.

"They sent strange beasts to test our response time." Li Jun corrected him. "I think they are probably strategizing for their next attack. We should focus on improving our defenses while we wait to hear back from Master Shen."

Shen Tai went silent as he fell into deep thought. He had been thinking of ways to defend the mountain pass for weeks yet nothing stuck. Once he had a plan in mind he would quickly figure out a way it could be defeated so he was hesitant to order his men to make the preparations.

"Do you have any ideas? What should we do to strengthen the mountain pass?" Shen Tai asked.
