Shen Guo arrived after almost an entire day of flying. It was strategically placed at the center of the country so it could be the last source of refuge for the citizens in the case of a full-scale invasion. It wasn't likely, but it was always best to prepare for the worst.

The city was grand and spectacular compared to every other stronghold in the empire. Many of the buildings reached the clouds, and the walls that surrounded the city stretched on for eternity.

The history books stated that the capital was founded on the peak of a gigantic mountain that was crushed by a celestial's wrath. It didn't seem likely, but none of the surrounding mountains stood anywhere near the elevation of the city's base.
