"Joy. I didn't become your friend because I wanted to get you in a web with me or Lisa. I became your friend not because I want to take advantage of you or make you get hurt. I became your friend so I could be intelligent like you. Everyone in orchid know you are a scholar. I want to have the knowledge that you have. I'm sorry for getting so close to you at the canteen. I didn't mean to be close. And about prom am not forcing you to be my prom partner. Its your choice and you have the right to choose. If after saying this you don't want to be my friend it's totally fine."Zach said looking at joy eye ball to eye ball and left the library.

Joy felt guilty for over reacting and she ran out of the library with her bag and phone. Students saw her running out but they had no idea what was going on.

Maya saw her running out but she didn't have the courage to stop her. She felt guilty for not talking to her since she came. She has been so blinded by her boyfriend that she didn't have time for her friend.

Joy quickly saw a cab and hopped in.The cab stopped at her apartment and she paid the fare and got down. She entered her apartment,freshened up and ate something. She was exhausted and stressed out. She called val but she didn't pick up. She decided to sleep with the hope she will see her tomorrow in class.

MORNING

Students were already in school behaving like bookworms which they are not. Joy saw them and smiled a wicked smile. She didn't know when she bumped into someone.

She quickly apologized and continued walking into the school. She wore a blue jeans and pink shirt. She braided the front of her blonde hair.

She got to the stairs and saw some girls looking at her. They were shocked at her appearance. Usually she packs her hair and wears a gown but now is the opposite.

She got to class and met val,Jennifer and Maya.

"Hey val"she said

"Hey joy. Hope you are ready for exams?"she inquired cheerfully

"Yes I am." She replied walking to val. They were the only one in the class because they came super early. It wasn't planned though.

"See girls you need to clear this beef you have okay? I can't see my friends quarreling. " val said with concern

"Val am not quarreling with anybody besides I had to stay on my own the whole of yesterday just because someone has a boyfriend." Joy responded looking at Maya.

"No no no.. Stop there sweetheart. You didn't stay on your own yesterday. I knew about what happened yesterday. So how were you on your own baby girl?" Maya replied Joy staring straight at her eyeballs.

Jennifer chuckled hearing what Maya just spilled out. She was also informed about yesterday since she was not in school.

"OK OK OK. Am sorry girls. Jenny am sorry for what transpired the other day. Maya you couldn't even check up on me yesterday. You were so busy with your boyfriend that you forgot about your friend." Joy said looking innocent

"Is okay J. Am also sorry. Let just get that behind us."jenny said also abbreviating joy to 'J'

They all cleared the beef they had and Joy told them all that happened in the lab.

"I can't believe you cried joy"

"You should accept being his prom partner"

"Do what you think is best."

Those were the comment she got from the girls.

"You guys are unbelievable." She told them and went to her desk since their invigilator for their exams was in the class.
