“Are you not feeling well?” he asked softly upon seeing how she was in a trance without moving at all.
When she heard him asking that, her cheeks reddened with embarrassment that she scolded herself inside her mind for a while, for making a fool of herself in front of a man she was tempted to be with.
“I …. Um …. Small uncle, you … what are you doing here?” Braelyn couldn’t help but ask hesitatingly and doubtfully as she looked shyly at the man she had seen once a month ago and briefly chatted with.
When Ronan heard what the little one had just called him, he couldn’t help but chuckle as he took steps towards her.
“Small uncle, hah. I love the sound of that!” he said in a low tone as he stopped right in front of her.
Upon seeing him coming so nearer to her like that, she couldn’t help but panic. It wasn’t about fear but she was afraid of exposing herself.
No matter how broken she was, standing in front of a man who was so perfect inside and out, and one who was capable of provoking and triggering the hidden primal desire in her, how could she not be tempted to pounce on him?
“I …. You … aren’t you standing a bit too close?” she couldn’t help but ask with a stutter as she took a few steps back.
Just standing so close to him. She was about to be driven insane.
When he saw how she was reacting, Ronan became very excited. He was a man, and he knew when someone desired him. Being so close to her like that, he could smell her desire for her though the little one was doing her best to suppress it and keep a distance.
If it had been others, they would have taken the chance and shown all the tricks that they had learnt to seduce him. But this little one was so strong and determined to not do anything.
Although he liked it, at the same time he hated it. Was that scumbag much better than him? He grimaced at the thought.
“Little one. Do you hate being close to me?” Ronan asked as he lowered his head so that he was looking at her at eye level.
Looking into those black eyes where she could see her reflection in them, Braelyn no longer knew what to do.
“I … I don’t hate you, small uncle,” she mumbled as she tugged her hem, praying hard that he would move back for a moment.
When Ronan heard that, he straightened himself with a chuckle before grabbing her small hand with his.
“Then that’s good. You should be starving. Let’s eat first and then we talk later!” he stated as he gently pulled her towards the table.
Fighting against an elder who happened to be the savior, Braelyn couldn’t do it. So, she obediently followed Ronan and let him do what he wanted.
Braelyn sat at the table opposite Ronan. She watched as he spread the food on the table before urging her to eat.
“Eat first, we will talk later,” he said in urging.
Seeing that he was more warmhearted and approachable than he was back then, Braelyn sighed with relief before she started digging in.
At first, she was too shy to eat as a handsome man and a dream guy for many was sitting in front of her but after taking a few spoonsful, she completely threw him out of the window and began to eat her food.
As for being shy, what was that?
Ronan was amused as he watched Braelyn change from being shy to bold in a matter of seconds. Watching her squinting her eyes as she enjoyed the food he had brought, he felt like he had accomplished something.
At least seeing her like that, he knew one thing that she liked so much.
He was motivated by her eating, so he began to savor his food seriously.
Braelyn only came to be when the food was swept off the plates. It was only then that she remembered that she wasn’t alone.
Stealing a peek at Ronan and seeing his smiling playfully like that, she lamented about life.
‘I just want to disappear. How could I eat so boldly like that in front of him? What if he hates me and no longer pays attention to me? My love of food had truly betrayed me this time!’ she scolded herself repeatedly, dejected that her actions might cause her target to be disinterested in her.
“Um…. Uncle this …. Thank you for the food!” she could only show her gratitude since she had indeed enjoyed the food.
It wasn’t like there was anywhere else for her to hide at the moment.
Ronan smiled dotingly as he looked at Braelyn who was once again turning into the little one, he knew.
“You are welcome. So, are you going to tell me what happened to you? Why did you faint in a crowded place?” Suddenly Ronan asked, catching Braelyn off guard as she wasn’t expecting him to be that straightforward.
“I … umm_”
“You don’t have to force yourself if you don’t want to tell me. I was really worried about you when I saw you. If something happens to you, Arya, my niece will be very sad and so, will I?” Ronan softly reminded but the firmness in his gaze when he said the last part made Braelyn feel very grateful.
“You …. You will really listen to me and not judge me?” she asked hesitatingly as she bit her lower lip unconsciously without herself realizing what she was doing.
Ronan’s gaze briefly landed on those moist pink lips, he had rubbed for a while previously and was tempted to do so much with it. He could feel the fire burning in his groins by just getting mesmerized by his lips.
What would happen if he were to recall everything that happened last night?
