“Um. I will not judge you for anything, little one. Trust your small uncle!” he assured her, with a smile as he looked at her kindly.
If only she knew how black-bellied the man was, she wouldn’t be too trustful.
When Braelyn confirmed that Ronan wanted to listen to her, she was first shocked as she wasn’t expecting that but after getting his reassurance; she felt very touched.
‘Maybe, he will feel pity for me and help me get revenge. Besides, he was the one who asked me. Even if this was to get exposed in the future, I won’t be carrying any label of a green tea bitch.’
“I … yesterday was my third anniversary with my ex-boyfriend who ditched me for a richer girl who also happened to be pregnant!” she summarized the first part with gritted teeth, her small fists clenching on top of the table while those green eyes of hers darkened at the thought of the two.
Seeing her getting emotional, Ronan felt a pang of jealousy. After all, he could tell how much she loved him and that wasn’t something that he was very happy to see.
“It was supposed to be a good day. I even used the card you gifted me last month and took out some savings so that I could prepare everything for such a special day. But you know what that scumbag did to me?” she fumed the more she thought about it.
Looking at the little one who was practically trembling and shaking with anger, Ronan felt that if he doesn’t make use of such a chance, he might not be able to eat that ass he was targeting.
So, without any warning, he suddenly stood up forcing Braelyn who was about to continue to stop that she was looking at him puzzlingly wondering what he was doing or wanted to do.
Without giving a heads-up, Ronan took a few strides to where she was seated before catching her off guard by scooping her in his arms.
“Ah! You … small uncle, what are you doing?” she asked nervously as her hands hurriedly hooked around his neck for support.
“Providing you with a safe space!” he shamelessly said as he took her to the sofa.
“I … you don’t have to do this!” she mumbled, her eyes getting teary.
When was the last time someone picked her or spoke so many comforting words? Her friends and family weren’t included. Even that scumbag barely coaxed her whenever he does anything wrong.
As she was held with his strong arms, curling in his embrace, for the first time in a very long time, she felt very safe.
Ronan took a seat on the sofa but didn’t let her go. Instead, he let her sit on his lap while her small head rested on his chest like a child.
“You can continue. Your small uncle will get justice for you!” he promised as he grabbed her small hand and began to caress it reassuringly.
Braelyn blushed, her ears and cheeks reddening at the same time.
“You … you don’t have to. I will deal with those two myself!” she said firmly, though, in his ear, he could only hear a voice that was trying its best to sound determined and convincing when it was the opposite.
“Okay. Small uncle will support on the sidelines. How about you continue?” he said coaxingly as he continued to caress her hand.
Seeing that he was catching the bait, Braelyn was relieved honestly. He wanted his help but at the same time, she didn’t want to appear as if she was approaching him for a purpose.
She didn’t want to lose anything before the battle even started.
“It was supposed to be a big day. I even prepared a lot so that it would be special but he came with her. They threatened me and called me names in front of so many people. I couldn’t even defend myself as all I could see were the spectators looking at me as if I was some freak.”
“Small uncle, I am not a freak. I am my parents’ child too and special just like any other else. So, who gave them the guts to call me that? If he no longer wanted me, he should have just broken up with me amicably but why did he have to do it this way?”
“Did they both find pleasure in tormenting me emotionally like that? But you know what uncle, those two didn’t even give me face. They nearly made it like I was the bad guy and the one standing in their way. That vixen even threatened me and told me that if I was not careful, she would deal with my family. What did I do wrong to deserve this?” Braelyn complained tearfully as the humiliating events of the previous day flooded through her mind.
She had never been so humiliated like that before. If she had known that he would come with her, she would have not bothered preparing anything at all. The loss she had suffered was too much and no matter what, she was going to return the loss and humiliation one hundredfold.
Ronan’s eyes narrowed dangerously as he listened to her pouring out her grievances. As he was already aware of what transpired before, he was just testing her to see whether she would tell him the truth or not.
Of course, being recounted a situation by others and the person involved was a completely different scenario.
So, when he listened to her as she complained tearfully about how she was bullied by those two, all he wanted to do was tear those two in pieces.
“Small uncle, I … I …. I am not a freak. I was born just different, but it wasn’t like he didn’t know that,” Braelyn felt wronged the more she recalled being called a freak by those two.
Of course, Ronan understood what she was talking about. After all, he was the one who changed her and saw how special she was. And talking about that, just thinking about how that scum touched Arya’s body and even was intimate with her, the veins on his forehead popped furiously.
‘How dare he touch what is mine?’ he was so angry at the thought of that slime embracing his little one.
“I never really lied to anyone. And if he wanted children, why didn’t he tell me about that? It’s not like I can’t give him a child!” she tearfully complained once again as she buried her small face in his chest crying her heart out.
Ronan’s chest heaved relentlessly as the tickling of the little girl’s weight on him was starting to take a dangerous toll on him. Not only that, but inside his head, her statement, ‘It’s not like I can’t give him a child,’ continued to be on repeat making him have mixed emotions.
