Poisoned/Cured.

"Huh??". Xi Xhen turned around to see an Enchantress. "Who are you?". She asked the shining beautiful lady.

"I am your past self". The gentle voice echoed.

"??". Xi Xhen was confused.

The glowing lights that surrounded the enchantress slowly faded away, before the face of the enchantress was revealed.

This made Xi Xhen gasp in disbelief. "What the?". She was amazed because the lady and her were almost similar in facial appearance. "Are you truly my past self? But how? And how is it that I'm able to communicate with you?''. She asked, as she had started believing the lady’s words.

"I really don't know how, but I don't have much time to spend with you now. Your life is in danger. We have little time left". The lady enchantress said, before she stretched her hands towards Xi Xhen.

Xhen understood the enchantress’ intention, so she placed both her hands on top of the enchantress' palms.

Suddenly, a bright light came out of their hands, causing Xi Xhen to shut her eyes a little bit.

After a while, Xhen saw the lady fading away, which made her panic. "Oh no, please don't go!". She pleaded.

"I am not meant to be present now, Xhen. You are my reincarnation, so it's right that I leave". The lady's calm voice said.

When Xhen saw that the lady had almost completely faded away, she decided to ask for her name. "Please, at least tell me our past life name". She demanded. She didn't know the reason why, but she was in pain seeing her past self fade away. Deep down, she wanted her past self to stay longer, even though it was impossible.

"I am called Jia Li". The enchantress’ innocent face smiled sweetly at Xi Xhen, before she completely faded away.

Xi Xhen gasped and breathed heavily as she forcefully woke up. She placed her hand on her chest and felt her heart pounding. ‘What was that all about? Was it my imagination or probably another weird dream?’. She thought.

She turned to her side, only to see an elderly man looking at her as if she were perhaps a ghost, who had woken up from the dead.

"Your highness". The elderly man greeted her, before he quickly checked her pulse using his shivering hands. "Go… Good news, your highness. I don't know how, but the poison matched your system. Your blood cells have absorbed the poison and healed you. You are completely okay now!". He shared the good news with her.

‘I…. Was I poisoned??! Was that the reason why I had that weird dream? But Jia Li did tell me that my life was in danger. I think it's best I talk about this with Lillie’. Xi Xhen thought.

"Please stay down and rest, your highness". The elderly physician said and assisted her in laying down on the bed after he saw her attempt to get up. He added, "Although you're healed, you will get sick if you don't rest throughout the night. Please have this". He gave Xi Xhen a white pill to take and a cup of water.

Without much hesitation, Xi Xhen collected the pill from him and drank it with the water he offered her.

"Thanks for saving me". Xhen thanked the physician.

"It's my duty, your highness". The elderly physician smiled as he said. His body was feeling extremely relieved because Xi Xhen had regained consciousness and was healed. "I'll take my leave now. If you feel any discomfort, please don't forget to take this pill until you completely heal".

"Hmm". Xhen nodded at him after collecting the pills he gave her.

The imperial physician took his treatment box and left Li Yun's royal manor.

Xi Xhen checked to see if anyone was coming, before she said, "Who the hell dared to poison me?!!". It was at this moment she let out her annoyance and frustration.

She rose from the bed and began walking back and forth inside the room. "Hmm. So that freak dared to poison me?!". She said, after figuring out the culprit behind her illness. "She really crossed the line this time around. It's time to deal with her!!". She said with anger written over her face.

"What if I died?". Xi Xhen’s face darkened as she muttered. "I had better think of a suitable punishment to present her with. My revenge will be a very sweet one!". She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth as she said.

After pacing back and forth, Xi Xhen grew tired and went and laid on the bed to rest. She slept off without realizing it.

"Understood, Your Highness". Zu Wan received Li Yun's order to find the culprit behind Xi Xhen’s poisoning.

"Your highness". The elderly imperial physician greeted Li Yun who was standing not far from the manor with Zu wan. "The crown princess consort is awake". He announced the good news out of excitement.

Li Yun: “--?? How is that even possible?”. He wondered. He even detected the poison in Xi Xhen's body himself and discovered that the poison in her body was not ordinary. And now, she was awake?

Li Yun dismissed the elderly physician with a hand gesture.

The elderly physician bowed his head before Li Yun and left.

"Your highness, should I?". Zu Wan asked Li Yun, so that he would know whether he should still find the poisoner.

"Yes. Bring the culprit to me tomorrow". Li Yun ordered Zu Wan, before teleporting to his room.

Inside the manor,

Li Yun saw Xi Xhen sleeping on his large bed. She was certainly more beautiful than a fairy.

He sighed deeply. "What has gotten over me?". He asked himself, as he stared at the little Lady, who was sound asleep on his bed.

He couldn't help but feel somewhat satisfied and relaxed whenever he saw her.

He held her wrist and her forehead and used his powers to check up on her.

The poison, indeed, was absorbed by her body. He was about to leave when something in him pulled him back to her.

‘Why are these strange feelings happening to me when she's with me?’. He wondered as he bent down and stared at her face closely. "What are you, little one?". He asked Xi Xhen, who yawned deeply before turning to the other side of the bed.

Li Yun wanted to leave again, but he just couldn't do that. Something inside him tempted him to stay.

‘What if the culprit dares to harm her again when I'm not beside her?’. He thought, making him use his powers to create some space for himself on the bed.

He was being extra careful when he laid beside Xi Xhen, as he avoided waking her. To his expectations, he felt absolutely comfortable and relaxed lying next to her.

A few hours later,

It was the next morning.

“Zaya, any news about that bitch's death?". Chin Yun asked her maidservant. She has been feeling impatient since last night, so she woke up early this morning, expecting to hear the news about Xi Xhen's death.

"Nothing yet, my lady. I should check it out". Zaya suggested.

"Sure, go ahead then". Chin Yun agreed. She ordered Zaya to leave the room using a hand sign.
