Chapter 103: Assassin’s Demise

Chapter 103: Assassin's Demise

~Third POV~

[Fuyuki City, outside Hyatt Hotel]

Kirie spoke out drawing his Black Keys, thin blades resembling a rapier that is longer than a meter with a short hilt. They are used specifically by Executors as projectile weapons. They boast great power and a high difficulty to master, so Kirie is a strong and rare expert at utilizing them in battle.

Kirie spoke out in a stoic tone analyzing Maiya's actions with a neutral expression on his face towards the hiding Maiya, "You have excellent reflexes, woman."

*Whup*

*Flop*

Tossing the bat Maiya's familiar where she can see it could only mutter his name, "Kirie Kotomine…"

Kirie looked the same, but his tone was filled with surprise speaking to Maiya holding his Black Keys at the ready, "Oh! And here I thought this was our first meeting. Or is there some reason you would know who I am? In which case, I can hazard a guess at your identity too. You probably know lots of other things as well. Maybe this was the perfect position from which to watch the 32nd floor of Fuyuki…"

Stepping closer having his weapons at the ready Kirie continues speaking in a stoic tone approaching ever closer, "But even so you failed to destroy the entire building along with him… anyone who uses such extreme methods could not possibly be a mage. Or if perhaps he is after all an expert in outwitting other ones."

Maiya held her pistol tighter realizing how knowledgeable Kirie was in knowing Kiritsugu's thought process thought in a worried tone, 'This man knows about Kiritsugu! Did he predict what Kiritsugu was going to do, and set up a trap for him…?'

*Tmp*

Before both parties could engage in combat a step alerted both as Mash slowly descended with Caster slyly smirking. Kirie immediately knew right then and there his time was up immediately calling on his Servant with his command seal, 'By my first Command Seal Assassin appear!'

*Shiii*

*WHOOOSH*

Suddenly appearing at the ready with numerous assassins of the Hassan of the Hundred Faces with the remaining assassins appeared ready to battle as Kirie spoke in a stoic tone at them, "I see… so it my time next isn't Master of Caster and Caster."

Holding his Black Keys Medea summons her Undead Dragon Knights Mash spoke in a neutral tone cracking his neck, "Pretty much. I want to end the Holy Grail War as fast as possible you see. And the only way to do that is by culling the competition you see."

Kirie simply nodded as Maiya took her chance to escape all the Assassins were ready for combat giving his command to them, "Assassin prepare for battle."

*Swooosh*

All of the Assassins hid in the shadows as Caster frowned making note of the enemies [Presence Concealment] clicking her teeth, "Highly annoying that they can merge with the shadows. Tracking them is nonexistent here."

Mash curtly agreed as he sighed viewing Kirie backing away trying to find a place to escape Mash spoke to Caster in a serious tone, 'With Assassin hiding in the shadows would be tough. But what if I rushed in a straight line with my speed forcing them to reveal themselves would you have a clear shot at them?'

Medea curtly nodded as she replied through their mental link in a serious tone, 'I could yes. But you simply need to avoid I'd say… 99 daggers directed at you. With their Rank of strength being C you have no issues.'

He grinned at the idea trusting his Caster. With a plan, Mash immediately began rushing forward towards Kirie forcing Assasin to save their Master's life going in a straight line at shocking speed far beyond the normal Magus in their eyes.

*VOOOM*

Using [Sprint] Kirie saw no choice but to fight against Mash drawing out his Shadow Sword in response. The simple attack was a simple straightforward one as the Assassin's eyes widened witnessing his burst of speed.

*Swf*

*Swf*

All in that moment launched their daggers towards Mash far exceeding them as Medea smiled immediately working on her spell as multiple magic circles appeared announcing her attack, "[Rain of Light: Machia Hecatic Graea]!"

*Swf*

*PEW*

*Swf*

*PEW*

Soon the magic circles released a volley of rapidly fired beams of light each with an A rank power of attack. Each beam is a deadly spell on the level of greater magecraft, capable of destroying the body of a Servant with a direct hit.

Just the use of one single beam would normally require a magic circle, ten count aria, and one minute of casting for a normal magus, and still thirty seconds with a [High-Speed Divine Words] Aria.

Medea's [Divine Words] allow her to shoot them in rapid succession without any preparation after simply targeting the enemy with her wand. She can fire them without pause when she has a supply of stored magical energy, and the result is something that resembles a bombing raid that leaves the ground scorching red.

This resulted in multiple Assassins being killed on sight instantly by the light as Medea spammed the [Rain of Light: Machia Hecatic Graea] without mercy killing the majority if not all Assassins under the constant volley of rays of light scorching all without mercy.

Maiya fortunately enough to escape the volley was horrified witnessing such firepower being used truly analyzing the real threat of the War was not Kirie Kotomine but Mash Bastion with his Caster steamrolling the competition.

Maiya gritted her teeth at this needing to warn Kiritsugu of the true enemy fleeing the scene. Medea saw this and let the fly go seeing as they already won this War.

Kirei immediately attacked tossing his Black Keys at Mash. Mash saw this and used [Sprint] to quickly maneuver the Black Keys aiming for Kirie's right flank as he used his shadow creating a stickman-like puppet as it slashed towards the right of his body.

*Shinng*

*Clang*

Ignoring the dangers Mash's eyes briefly raised an eyebrow that the priest's clothes were met with resistance. Mystic Codes enhances its durability as Kirie grits his teeth holding in the pain focusing on the death match in front of him.

Witnessing the clash Mash continued with another with Kirie blocking the first blow. Aiming for another slash at his mid-section the priest raised his throwing blades to block the strike holding his ground.

*Klank*

He didn't expect that while he deflected the strike with most of his strength, Mash swiped his hand over Kirie's head bringing the black dagger from his [Sub-Space] and stabbing it into his head causing the priest to lose any life as his head was open blood gushing from the opened wound.

*Shiii*

The black dagger shined brightly as the transferring of his memories was now inside the dagger staggering Mash took the dagger back, "Thanks Kirie for the gift. Hope you rot in hell, fake priest."

*Thud*

Falling Medea came towards her Master's side finishing off Assassin with a grin plastered on her face, "I see everything has come as you expected Master. This leaves only 4 remaining. Saber. Rider. Berserker. And Caster. You wish to end Berserker's Master in betrayal?"

Mash shook his head, eyeing Medea with a pleased expression, preparing their move, "No. I keep my word to those that are my ally. Besides we have a girl to save Medea."

She merely bowed as she cast a spatial teleportation spell as the fog from before began to surround the whole Fuyuki City giving people other than a select few commands to follow this night…

[Fuyuki City, Ryuudou Temple]

Kariya was dreadfully nervous. So many things could go wrong in this process after witnessing the fog and being notified by Mash he proceeded to go along with their plan to save Sakura.

Kariya was determined to see through with the mission providing his support. After being linked to the Homunculi system he now had another source of Mana to draw from allowing Berserker to remain active for longer periods.

Kariya spoke to Berserker with their mental link having another source of Mana for him to dwell upon, 'Berserker…?'

The Knight grunted in astral form as Kariya took a deep breath before speaking in a determined tone pleading to the Heroic Spirit, "I'm sorry if I've been dragging you along too much, but this is why I entered the war. I finally have a chance at saving Sakura."

Another grunt from Berserker but this one wasn't as angry as the rest as Kariya thought he would continue to explain, 'That was just my wish in the first place… now that I think about it, I never even asked for yours.'

Berserker was quiet for a moment before he spoke using words, "…Ar… thur…!"

Kariya laughed to himself not realizing the answer for not seeing the obvious answer and scolding himself raising his hand in a determined tone, "Haha, right. Ask a stupid question, I guess. Well, I guess I can't back down now. By my first command seal, Berserker, I order you to fight [For Someone's Glory]!"

The mad knight materializing shrouded and enveloped Berserker as Kariya turned off the Madness Enhancement. The individual that emerged was not the form of the knight as this was Berserker's Noble Phantasm in effect.

[For Someone's Glory: Not For One's Own Glory] is utilized by Berserker Lancelot manifests as a black fog. Combined with his armor, which completely covers his body, this ability conceals Berserker's identity and personal status.

His body is enveloped in a black fog with properties like [Invisible Air] which constantly shifts his outline like an off-focus photograph that obscures the discerning features of the armor. Even should he remove his helmet, it will be impossible to discern his face.

The mist-like illusion also causes his image to double or triple randomly, making him appear to be a hallucination, and prevents the use of a Master's clairvoyance to read the status of Berserker. The only information visible on official materials is the Servant's Master's name, height, weight, alignment, class abilities, and Skills. His True Name, sex, personal status, and Noble Phantasms are out of focus and unable to be viewed.

The ability has degraded from its true usage to an 'imitation' that can only disguise his identity due to the application of Mad Enhancement. It is possible to make use of the true ability one single time with the use of a Command Spell, though the transformation still has the appearance of being under Mad Enhancement.

But soon the figure collapsed on the floor, dying on the spot or so it appeared with Kariya praying with all his heart against Fate as the fog settled in, "It's all or nothing… I place my everything to you my ally and my Servant."
