The rhythmic beats of the party music pulsed through the air as Anna navigated through the crowd, her eyes scanning the crowd looking for her boyfriend, Evans, because she has not seen him since the party began.

Pushing her way through the sea of dancing bodies, Anna reached the dimly lit balcony, where shadows danced with flickering fairy lights.

A sinking feeling gripped her heart as she spotted Evan and another girl in an intimate embrace, she didn't want to believe her eyes, so she moved closer to where her boyfriend was,ss and it wasn't what she expected to see, she saw her boyfriend of five years and her stepsister Lucy in an intimate embrace, their lips locked in a betrayal that shattered the illusions of trust. Time seemed to stand still as Anna grappled with the shocking scene before her.

Evan what are you doing!! Anna screamed as hot tears poured from her eyes.

Anna felt her world spinning as her cheek stung badly from the slap. She looked at her father as she still had a tinge of hope that he would back her up.

Dad….. Anna cried out but he turned his face away staying mute and leaving the scene. Seeing his reaction she scoffed in heart and berated herself. I'm a fool what made me think he'll stand up for me, he has never backed me up since mom died, her heart was torn as a look of disgust flashed in his eye.

Unable to bear the weight of the public humiliation any longer she glanced at her boyfriend who just stood there and did nothing, then she left the party. Tears blurred her vision as she walked barefooted through the dimly lit street not knowing where she was headed to. The clouds darkened and heavy rain dropped from the sky mirroring her emotions. A speeding car speed towards Anna its head light casting an ominous glow. The world seemed to slow down shadows elongating as the vehicle closed in.

She closed her eyes waiting for the impact of the speeding car as she wanted to cross the road to the other side, then she fainted.

Tire screeches against the pavements, as a man slammed on the braked, his heart racing as he spotted a girl lying motionless on the roadside, he rushed out of the car and rushed to her side, fear tightening his chest as he checked for signs of life. ''Ma'am can you hear me?'' he called out, his voice trembling with concern. Gently lifting her into his arms he carefully carried her into his car, carefully laying her on the back seat and securing the seat belts before jumping behind the wheels. Ignoring the speed limits he speed through the streets, his mind focused on getting her to the nearest hospital.
