Chapter 6: The Gap of 1 Point of Luck

At dusk, Qin Muye opened his eyes and casually filled his stomach with a piece of bread and some water.

Looking at the limited food, he estimated that he would run out of supplies after tomorrow.

Throughout the day, besides reviewing the "Basic Elemental Meditation Method," he had been immersed in reading the book called "Monster Experiment Manual." It must be said that with the two major talents, coupled with the effects of Basic Enlightenment, Basic Scholarship, and the boost of 1 point of knowledge, his learning progress had skyrocketed.

If yesterday he was merely studying, now it was different; he was understanding.

The difference is like memorizing the multiplication table and flexibly mastering multiplication.

"Unfortunately, I only have the 'Basic Elemental Meditation Method,' and there's no way to learn more about mage-related knowledge." Qin Muye felt regretful; this book was just a meditation technique and did not come with any magic or other skills.

The gains from this meditation method were limited, with a low content quality. Therefore, he spent an hour to completely grasp it.

The remaining time was spent studying and understanding the "Monster Experiment Manual." At this point, he understood why the building for recruiting monsters was called the "Monster Workshop."

This book was practically a tragic history of garden elves and monsters.

The first half described how to transform garden elves into monsters through magical experiments. In other words, if Qin Muye had a garden elf, he had a seventy percent chance of transforming it into a loyal monster. The reason it wasn't one hundred percent was that he only had theoretical knowledge; to achieve one hundred percent success, he needed practical experience.

The second half focused on magical experiments specifically for monsters.

Yes, magical experiments, not transformations. Most of the experiments ended in failure, except for occasional rare successful cases.

The successful cases demonstrated the magical attributes, magical intelligence, and loyalty skills of monsters.

After studying for a day, Qin Muye finally understood the mystery behind it. It was inseparable from the mage's magical power.

In other words, he could completely transform monsters himself to enhance their strength, especially with the foundation of magical attributes and magical intelligence, the success rate was roughly fifty percent.

If he were more skilled, perhaps eighty percent.

So, he needed monsters to help him practice.

"Master, the exploration team is back," a monster said respectfully.

At this moment, Qin Muye also realized that it was already dusk.

Stretching lazily, he had a short nap in the afternoon and meditated for fifteen minutes to restore his energy, but unfortunately, there was no increase in magical power.

Normally, fifteen minutes of meditation per day was sufficient; excessive meditation time could damage mental health.

Perhaps he could improve by using a better meditation technique in the future.

"All right, let's see what they brought back while it's still dusk." Qin Muye got up and, accompanied by a monster, returned to the first floor of the mage tower. Currently, there was no corresponding building, so the monsters could only manage on the first floor.

When Qin Muye came down, the six monsters returned with a pile of items.

"Great master, we found two treasures on the way – a magic scroll, a bag of wheat seeds, a bag of grape seeds, and three bags of corn seeds," one monster stepped forward and reported respectfully.

Qin Muye recognized this monster; it was the one that inquired about him this morning.

Looking at these gains, Qin Muye felt a bit skeptical about life. How did they manage to pick up these things?

"Oh damn, could it be their 1 point of luck?" Qin Muye only realized this now.

Yesterday, when he was wandering aimlessly and got beaten up, he was leading the team. So, theoretically, the luck was mainly based on him. Today, the monsters acted on their own, essentially utilizing the full 1 point of luck, resulting in bringing back these items.

"The latent strength of these monsters is really beyond imagination. No wonder they were nerfed without any attack or defense." Yesterday, his most precious find was one gem unit, but today the monsters went all out and brought back treasures and magic scrolls.

His gaze fell on two pieces of treasure – a Azure Blue Headband and a Standard Armor. Both were basic-level treasures.

[Azure Blue Headband]

[Level: Basic]

[Attributes]

[Knowledge +1]

[Mana +10]

[Standard Armor]

[Level: Basic]

[Attributes]

[Defense +2]

The Azure Blue Headband looked like a blue ribbon, while the Standard Armor was a not-so-lightweight armor. It was probably carried back by three monsters working together.

Monsters weren't lords; they were merely units and didn't have item slots to store items. Therefore, the team that brought back the Standard Armor had relatively few gains. Besides the armor, they only found a bag of corn seeds.

The Azure Blue Headband and the rest of the items were brought back by another team of monsters.

The magic scroll contained a Level 1 spell: "Magic Eye."

[Magic Scroll - Magic Eye]

[Spell Level: 1]

[Effect: Increases vision by +1 for 10 minutes]

For Qin Muye, this was good news. Perhaps he could learn the "Magic Eye" skill using this magic scroll.

He had no recollection of the "Magic Eye" skill; it wasn't a skill in Heroes of Might and Magic.

However, it didn't matter. This was a real world, not a game of Heroes of Might and Magic. Moreover, it seemed that this magic scroll wasn't a magic skill book but a disposable consumable, disappearing after use.

"Well done. Now, while it's still dusk, plant the corn seeds. As for water, go to the river and fetch some." Qin Muye said, then suddenly remembered that he didn't have a container for carrying water. He shifted his gaze to the Standard Armor and said, "Let's use this Standard Armor. Seal one end, and several monsters can carry it together."

After equipping the Azure Blue Headband, Qin Muye took the Magic Scroll - Magic Eye and stored all the remaining seeds in the resource warehouse.

The six monsters received the orders and left with the Standard Armor, carrying the corn seeds to be planted.

The arrival of the Standard Armor was timely. Not only could it serve as a water container, but it could also be used as a cooking pot. Unfortunately, it wasn't a helmet; if it were, it would be even better and save a lot of trouble.

Then he looked at the monster that was heavily injured, with only 1 point of health remaining.

"You should know that with such serious injuries, you can't self-heal at all. We also have no way to heal you."

"So, I have a fifty percent chance of healing you and making you stronger. But if it fails, it means death. Are you willing to take the risk?"

The monster's eyes flashed with a hint of hope, and in a weak voice, it said, "Willing, my master. Even if it means death, it's better than wasting food for you."

"As long as you're willing. Next, eat your fill, consume enough food to give your body the necessary nutrients." Qin Muye took out white bread, water, and a few pieces of smoked meat he picked up yesterday, stuffing them into the monster's mouth.
