Charmanvati-A Cursed River

World's P.O.V,

Leaving that matter aside, Karn had crossed his first hurdle by reaching the meeting point of Ashwanadi and Chambal river, unknowingly.

When the school of fishes and Makar arrived at this point, they hesitated a little. They instinctively refrained from entering the Chambal river. It might be due to the arrival of Night, causing darkness to envelop the world with a little source of gentle radiance coming from the Moon hanging over their heads.

Nevertheless, this darkness coupled with the muddy water of Chambal river induced the primal fear of both the school of fishes(The Prey) and Makar-the crocodile(The Hunter) to rise from its slumber.

They could feel something malicious and vengefulness seeping out from the blanket of water.

"Om~"...

"Om~"...

At that very moment, the sound of divine syllables cleanses themselves from the fear and other negative effects of water, filling the beings with wisdom.

Awakened from their momentary cowardice, The school of fishes continued their Voyage' under the leadership of Makar.

Different from their previous hesitance, they moved with extreme confidence and devotion. In their pupils, the dark world had been illuminated by the bright rays of wisdom. They felt enlightened sage, unaffected by the changes of the world around themselves.

Splash!

Splash!

No sooner than they moved to enter the Charmanvati river, the water turned hectic as if afraid of something. Sadly, The Enlightened ones didn't care about it and moved forward without an ounce of hesitation.

Gurgle!

Shi!

Shush!

Whirlpools formed on every part of the river to warn the visitor. Unfortunately, it didn't succeed in their objective. The fear it tried to strike in the enlightened one's were not even noticed by them.

Su...

Su....

After they entered the turbulent river, everything turned silent as if affected by the divine chants, successfully portraying scenes of some horror movies.

In this serene atmosphere, calm winds carried the divine syllable to every corner of Charmanvati/Chambal river, further increasing the range of purifying ability of 'Om/Aum'.

Six hours later,

Vasusena's voyage finally crossed Charmanvati river, entering the calm waters of Yamuna river which would take him to Mother Ganga, One of the holiest rivers.

As the voyage left the Chambal river, some indescribable things happened behind the backs of Makar and Others.

A lady wearing a yellow Saree emerged out of the deep-muddy water of Charmanvati river. Her fair skin was wrapped fully under her Saree not showing a bit of her skin.

Looking at Vasusena and party going further away almost disappearing from her sight, She longingly looked at the 'Voyage' before folding her hands as a form of utmost gratitude while her light brown pupils shining from her semi-transparent Veil of her Saree were filled with immense respect.

The strange thing here wasn't the appearance of this deity like a woman but her appearance. Under her Yellow Saree one could view a deep crimson liquid disappearing at an astonishing pace before disappearing completely. Before some drops of blood would from her body before dissolving in the flowing water creating a horrendous picture. However, basked in the presence of Vasusena's chants, the crimson blood disappeared without a trace.

Leaving behind a pure lady known as Charmanvati, also known as Chambal river to the World. She was formed from the blood of countless animals killed by King Rantideva as a form of sacrifice. At that time, The world was horrified by the fearful shrieks of innocent animals. Be it land or sky, both of them cried their heart out. This vile act of Rantideva was an unforgivable sin! Due to the unholy sacrifices performed by infamous King Rantideva, she was deemed as a cursed river by the humans and other beings alike. Even touching her water had became a taboo. Her Niyati was to live a lonely life till Draupadi will curse her again so that she would live more lonely and sad life. When the Kalyuga finally arrive, She would be used as a medium to promote negative emotions among living beings before Lord 'Kalki' would cleanse her.

Fortunately, by the mighty prowess of 'Om', the negative emotions of the animal spirit inside her were cleansed much earlier. They got Moksha and successfully ascended from the world of mortals, Mrityu-loka. Simultaneously purifying Charmanvati river. Freeing from one of the vile curse.

Hence, Charmanvati Devi will always remember this debt of gratitude which would be paid in full, when the right time comes. When Karna would need her.

As for the one main culprit of the incident, Vasusena remained ignorant of his amazing feat...
