Chapter 19

"Mia, Nana," Mia broke the silence, forcing a smile. "I didn't know you guys were coming... I'm glad." Nana responded warmly right away, while Arya stood there silently, her gaze fixed on the room, occasionally giving Hanna an unsettling glare.

Hanna remained calm, but Arya's behavior was unsettling.

"Arya, Arya Maywell? What's the matter with you?" Mia demanded passionately, feeling uncomfortable with her manners.

Just as Mia voiced her concern, Arya ignited like a live wire. She responded harshly, "You're filled with cruelty, Mia." Hanna stepped back cautiously, not wanting to get involved.

Mia looked at Arya, perplexed and unable to comprehend her words, as Arya continued to rant and berate her.

"Nana, why are you silent? Speak up. What have I done wrong?" Mia attempted to gain Nana's attention.

However, Nana felt powerless and remained unable to defend herself or intervene in Arya's growing agitation, causing Mia to become even more disheartened.

Arya vibrated with anger, pointing fingers and wildly waving her arms around the room as she argued, her sole intention fixated on reaching Hanna.

"Mia, there's nothing you can say now to convince me that you're not my enemy. I know you've gone to great lengths to discuss me with her," Arya accused Mia strongly, casting a condescending glance at Hanna. Inwardly, Arya entertained the thought of giving Hanna a scathing slap.

Despite all the nonchalance displayed, Hanna maintained her composure, keeping a single thought in her mind: "Arya, say whatever you want, but make sure you don't lay a finger on me."

The room was filled with constant noise as words flew through the air, bouncing off the walls. Normally, such a quarrel would attract attention, but it was the weekend, and most of the neighboring students had traveled. The few who were present simply didn't care.

Hanna couldn't help but think, "You can't just come into my room and act out, being rude to my roommate and I. Where are your manners?" However, she quickly dismissed these thoughts, and everything around her became more distinct. She didn't even consider using her earpiece, and leaving the room wasn't an option at that moment.

Arya let out a displeased chuckle and remarked, "Oh, so now you both are sharing dresses? Mia, you're sharing your dress with her? It has come to this." As she spoke, she picked a glance at the dress Hanna was wearing and clapped in an impolite manner.

Turning to Nana, she added, "Nana, just look at her. All dressed up in a borrowed dress. Doesn't she look wonderful?"

Nana, who appeared to be displeased, made an inaudible sound in response.

Hanna let out a heavy sigh, clearly fed up with the annoyance and lack of respect.

However, Arya overheard her and swiftly directed her attention towards Hanna.

She repeated, "You look so attractive in those borrowed clothes." The words irritated Hanna, and she felt a surge of anger, wishing she could tear Arya apart without caring about the consequences. Arya looked at her with desperation, but Hanna responded with a sly grin, intentionally trying to provoke Arya.

Hanna managed to control her anger and calmly demanded, "Enough, Arya! It's time for you to leave," making it clear that she was not in her father's mansion anymore.

It was expected of Arya to assert her superiority and stubbornness. Arya stood her ground, claiming that she was there with Mia's permission and that unless Mia asked her to leave, she wouldn't. "But I won't be chased out by a poor girl like you," she added.

She continued her offensive remarks, saying, "I wouldn't even be here for what? A parentless hoe? A poor beggar. Go dance for Matthew..." Mia, growing increasingly restless, interrupted, pleading with Arya to stop. But Arya turned a deaf ear to Mia's plea, continuing her offensive remarks. "She's an orphan, Mia. I heard her adoptive parents picked her up from some slum. Can you believe it?"

Mia was utterly shocked by Arya's hurtful words, even though she had grown tired of Arya's incessant blabbering. Nana, on the other hand, felt exposed and deeply saddened, overwhelmed by a sense of shameful disappointment.

Hanna's eyebrow furrowed in sorrow as she momentarily closed her eyes. She looked towards Nana, but Nana couldn't bring herself to meet her gaze. Hanna felt a profound sense of betrayal.

A stranger she despised had managed to demean her with one of the most painful aspects of her life, something that kept her awake and in tears night after night.

Her origin remained a mystery, and the nightmares it brought haunted her, even though she couldn't recall their vivid details.

Arya had callously made a mockery of her deepest fears.

Suppressing her tears, Hanna unleashed a furious yell, "GET THE FUCK OUT!" Her voice echoed through the room, as if it possessed the power to shatter everything, much like Jean Grey's abilities. Instantly, silence descended upon the space, rendering all other voices mute.

Arya appeared fearful, and even Mia looked confused, unsure if she was also being told to leave.

"ALL OF YOU!"

And without hesitation, they all departed as Mia forcefully pushed them out from behind.

The commotion attracted the attention of some people nearby, causing them to come and check what was happening.

However, Hanna insisted that they leave her alone, and eventually, they departed, respecting her request.

After a few minutes, Hanna took a moment to reflect on the situation. She reached for her phone and composed a message to Mathew.
