The Parable

"I want you to know that if I can't be close to you

I settle for the ghost of you

I miss you more than life (more than life)"

As Matthew lay on his back, lost in his thoughts, a song played softly in the background. The lyrics resonated deeply with him, evoking memories of Hanna—the way she smiled, her charming sense of humor. The emotions overwhelmed him, almost bringing tears to his eyes. Unable to bear the sadness, he abruptly rolled off his bed and switched off the music. Unbeknownst to him, his lack of appetite was causing him to lose weight.

During phone conversations with his mom, Matthew put on a brave face, pretending that everything was fine. He always declined video calls, not wanting his true emotions to be revealed.
