Chapter 30: I’m Not Jealous

My brothers stopped in front of me.

“Good to see you, Sammy,” Theodore put on a fake smile. “Glad you made it.”

“You were quite persuasive,” I added a warning to my tone, certain that they were able to detect it.

A murmur rose up around us despite my attempts at not causing a scene. I supposed that it was inevitable that the three Bennett brothers reunited would cause a bit of a stir. Unfortunately, our family’s drama was more well-known than I would have liked.

"Thanks for the compliment," Theodore laughed cunningly and nudged Nathaniel. “It’s part of my charm, right, Nathaniel?”

Our oldest brother didn’t even bother to play nice. He jumped right into the topic.

“Father wants to see you, come with me.”

I scoffed, “I’m perfectly fine here. If he wants to see me, he can walk over here.”
