Unwanted Thoughts

Cynthia Shannon looked at Tristan Ford with some surprise. "Do you mind coming along and say hello?" Tristan's eyes carried a shallow smile as he looked at Cynthia.

Cynthia instinctively glanced at the old woman standing beside her. Sensing the other person's attentive gaze, she hesitated for a moment and nodded.

The old lady saw Cynthia and Tristan approaching from afar, and her smile became even more uncontrollable. She waved her hands warmly and said, "Girl, it's a bit sudden for me to call you over. Hope you don't mind."

Mainly because it was the first time she had seen a girl by her grandson's side! She couldn't contain her inner excitement.

"Hello, Grandma," Cynthia greeted obediently.

Upon hearing her words, the smile on the old lady's face could almost reach her ears. She held Cynthia's hand and gently caressed it, saying, "Good, good. You're such a good child. The more I look at you, the more endearing you become."

The sudden gesture made Cynthia feel somewhat uncomfortable, so she could only maintain an awkward and polite smile in place.

Tristan seemed to perceive Cynthia's discomfort and subtly created some distance between them by adjusting the blanket. "Although the sunshine is perfect today, there's still a breeze. Please be careful not to catch a cold."

The old lady raised her eyebrows in surprise, her eyes carrying a meaningful glimmer. Was this considerate and thoughtful person really her grandson, who was not good at expressing affection towards women?!

At her age, the old lady was an old ginger when it came to reading people's minds. With just a glance, she could tell what this rascal was up to.

A meaningful smile played at the corners of her mouth.

This rascal was worried that she would embarrass the young girl. It seemed that her grandson hadn't reached the point where he couldn't learn how to please girls..

When her gaze fell on Cynthia again, it was full of affection. "Good child, how long have you two known each other?"

At first, Cynthia was puzzled by the old lady's enthusiasm. But in an instant, she understood everything from the kind and appraising look in the old lady's eyes. She hurriedly explained, "Grandma, you've misunderstood. We just happened to meet by chance."

Happened to meet...

The old lady's gaze subtly shifted from Tristan. It seemed that someone disagreed.

"Girl, I like you the moment I see you. How about spending some time chatting with Grandma if you're free?" The old lady glanced at Cynthia and then quickly lowered her eyelids. That glance portrayed the old lady's pitiful loneliness to the fullest. "This rascal is so busy that I can't even catch a glimpse of him. Pity this lonely old woman who doesn't have anyone to talk and chat with."

"I..." Cynthia knew that the old lady had misunderstood. Instinctively, she wanted to refuse.

But when she saw the old lady's white hair, she suddenly thought of her own gray-haired grandfather. Her heart couldn't help but be moved. After hesitating for a moment, she nodded. "Okay."

Upon hearing her words, the old lady immediately changed her previous desolation and looked at Cynthia with a smiling face. "Then Grandma will be waiting. I'll have Tristan personally come to pick you up."

"This..." Cynthia looked a little embarrassed as she glanced at Tristan. "This seems too troublesome."

"Not at all, not at all." The old lady quickly gave Tristan a meaningful glance, her eyes filled with a self-explanatory sense of pride.

After a brief conversation, Cynthia received a call from Lily Jonas and had to leave.

Tristan's eyes slightly narrowed. His gaze, like a torch, stared at the slender and tall figure of the woman.

"Tristan," the old lady suddenly spoke, her voice carrying a hint of coldness that seemed accusatory.
