Taking Responsibility

Cynthia watched as he closed the file in front of him and casually placed it aside.

“Did I disturb you?” she asked, feeling a bit embarrassed.

“Yes,” Tristan responded without any courtesy.

Cynthia tugged at her lips, feeling a bit awkward. “I'll leave as soon as I put down these things.”

She walked to the desk and placed the milk on Tristan's table before turning to leave.

Just as her hand touched the doorknob, the door swung open, and a hand brushed against the strands of hair around her neck, pressing against the door.

The refreshing scent of wood instantly enveloped her, as the man's warm and solid chest pressed tightly against her back.

“You've already disturbed me, so why not take full responsibility?”

The man's magnetic voice whispered, gently brushing her ear with each breath.

Cynthia's brow furrowed intensely.

As she remained silent, the man reached out and straightened her body, his deep black pupils filled with a faint smile as he tenderly gazed at her.
