Sincerity Can Offset a Myriad of Evils

"I dare not," Tristan replied.

Old Mrs. Ford stared at him intently, as if assessing the truthfulness of his words. Tristan let out a helpless chuckle. "Don't you trust me?"

"If the beam is not straight, the columns beneath will be crooked," Old Mrs. Ford snorted almost imperceptibly. "You are undoubtedly influenced by that old man."

Hearing his grandmother refer to his grandfather, Tristan sighed softly. "Since childhood, Grandfather taught me to learn to cut off emotional ties, but I also remember Grandmother's teaching: sincerity can offset a myriad of evils."

At these words, a faint smile appeared on Old Mrs. Ford's face. "So, you don't oppose this engagement anymore?"

One of the reasons Tristan came back with her was to dissolve the engagement. Now that Cynthia is the granddaughter of the Quinns, everything can proceed as planned.

"Then can I hold a great-grandchild next year?" the old lady suddenly asked.
