Chapter 8 - Attempted Murder

In the midst of such an astonishing situation, suddenly I was shocked by something I didn't expect, it was caused by Lala's hand which was clinging too tightly to my waist.

Ehh... What's going on, why are his hands suddenly gripping my body so tightly? Instantly my thoughts became mixed up between whether to reprimand him or whether I should just leave him like this until I met Lala's father. Maybe right now he was feeling scared, because the atmosphere in the house was so quiet.

Suddenly we were both startled by a sound like a plate falling, the sound came from the kitchen. But I didn't want to rush to conclusions about this and chose to remain standing in the living room.

"Is your house always like this every time you come home?"

"No, dad never did anything strange."

Lala seemed to know all the ins and outs about her father and her own house, but suddenly she ran to her father's room, but with quick reflexes I stopped her and told her to stay here with me.

"Oii.... Stay here, where are you going?"

"This is my house, so I know exactly what to do?"

I was actually very worried about letting him go alone in such a hurry, but the look on his face showed very deep worry, maybe right now he was worried about his father. I pulled her sleeve which made Lala stop.

"Okay!! if you still insist on what you said, I'll just go there to check."

I walked towards Lala's father room, while Lala herself followed me from behind with great care.

While walking to the room, Lala was heard repeatedly calling her father, but in a voice so small that it did not cause any noise throughout the room.

This aroused suspicion in Lala, who asked me why she had to sneak in when this was her own house.

"Calm down! I was just thinking, if someone else entered your house without your father knowing?"

"Don't say anything wrong about Daddy, I will never forgive you if that really happens."

Lala said it with a very cold gaze towards me. He seemed to be a different person when it came to his father.

"As I said earlier, that's just my guess. Sorry if my words just now hurt your feelings?"

"Okay! I'll forgive you just this once"

The two of us who initially looked at each other, moved away from each other again.

We both agreed to find out what was happening to Lala father at his house.

The two of us walked until we arrived in front of Lala's father bedroom door, but we couldn't hear any sound from inside.

"Daddy, I'm Nicholas. Can you hear my voice?"

I kept banging on Lala's father's bedroom door, but there was no sound of Lala's father responding at all. However, after trying for a long time, there was still no response from Lala's father's room, bad thoughts started to emerge again from within me.

I thought something bad had happened, but this time I tried not to tell Lala about it, realizing that I would really hate her if I realized she said the same thing a second time. So this time I just kept quiet and will confirm it myself.

I checked the door to see if it was locked from the inside or could still be opened from the outside. After successfully checking by moving the door handle several times, I realized that the door was locked from the inside.

"Do you keep a spare key for your father's room?"

"No! There's no spare key, dad never allowed it because he thought it wasn't necessary."

I had to think very hard about opening the door to his room, until then I fumbled with the door to make sure it would be safe if I had to break it open.

I Check everything from humidity including how hard the wooden door is. After making sure everything was safe to forcefully jack it up, I started taking steps to get ready to break down the door.

I moved away about 100 centimeters from the door. It is made to provide a stronger push when my body hits the door. Sure enough, I only made one push towards the door. The door immediately opened and this allowed me to see what was happening in Lala's father's room.

I looked at every corner in the room with the aim of looking for Lala's father and also shouted for him.

"Daddy... Where are you?"

Suddenly I was very surprised to see Lala's father lying next to a large cupboard which was not far from his bed.

I ran as fast as possible to his body which was lying helpless, where after I saw there was a blood wound on his shoulder.

Lala, who was behind me, also ran towards her father, crying hysterically.

"Haahhh... Dad....."

As soon as Lala was beside her father, she immediately burst into tears which slowly flooded her entire face.

I immediately checked for signs of life from Lala's father by pressing the pulse around the arteries in his hand.

After checking, the arteries were still beating and I then checked other parts to find out for sure the condition of Lala's father by checking his nose, I wanted to make sure it was clear. I also hope Lala's father is still alive.

"Don't worry, your father is fine at the moment, I just checked on him."

I quickly carried Lala's father to my car which was now parked in the front yard.

When I arrived at the front of the house, I was surprised to find that all my car tires were flat.

I'm very sure there must be someone who has done and planned all this? but who is that person? I immediately checked the car tires which seemed to have been deliberately punctured by someone until they were flat.

I suspect that this person has something to do with Lala's injured father? Then my gaze immediately turned to look at Lala standing right next to me.

"Lala I asked you, has anyone hated you lately?"

Lala wiped the tears that had been flowing since earlier, while tilting her head to try to remember the person who might really hate her family.

"As far as I remember, I have no enemies at all."

There isn't any! I frowned, feeling surprised by Lala. Because I really believe that someone else is clearly trying to kill Lala family.

"Try to remember carefully, maybe you forgot something important that you shouldn't forget?"

Lala looked confused and didn't understand what I was saying to her, but she seemed to be trying her best to find out by remembering it.
