They made their way to the mansion, their steps quickening as they neared the entrance. The door creaked open, and they entered a large hall, dimly lit by candles and filled with the scent of pine and earth.
The mansion's interior was both grand and cozy. The floors were covered with thick, patterned rugs, and the walls were lined with bookshelves and tapestries. A large fireplace dominated one wall, its flames casting a flickering light over the room.
They helped the First Alpha to a comfortable chair by the fire, wrapping a blanket around him. He looked up at them, his eyes filled with gratitude and pain. "Thank you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Luna knelt beside him, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "We're going to make you better," she said, her voice firm. "We won't let anything happen to you."
