Logan vs Leo
Logan quickly got up and grabbed his sword. "Damn, I lost track of time while practicing the sound element skill, I hope I'm not too late" Logan cursed under his breath as he picked up the pace, running to the arena.
"My speed has increased, is this the perks of being a cultivator?" Logan muttered under his breath. he discovered that his speed had increased by at least twice what it was before, he was pleased.
He checked the messages again and saw that they were from Jason. They were in the form of voice transmissions transmitted to his transmission jade slip.
"Damn, bro are you going to leave me to fight alone? The tournaments start in a day!"
"The tournaments start in a few hours' time bro, you have to hurry up!"
Jason had also sent him the details of the tournament and the location of the arena and Logan could not help but be grateful because he could imagine himself running around the whole expanse before him and that would probably take a while. The information about the direction to the arena came in the form of a wisp of light greenish strand that emanated from the essence transmission stone, as soon as it flowed with slight speed and entered his head some information appeared.
Logan felt a surge of adrenaline as he reached the arena, although he expected it to be big, he never expected it to be this big.
All Logan's thoughts were drowned in by the loud noise of the crowd "I didn't think there would be this much crowd!" he also saw a large screen that displayed the names and rankings of the participants. he was ranked last as the last person they had any information on.
He soon started bubbling with excitement as his eyes caught the stage up front, he had been looking forward to the tournament for a long time. He wanted to test his skills and see how far he had come since he came to this strange world.
He also wanted to see the other contestants and their abilities. He had heard from Jason that there were some powerful and talented people participating in the tournament, some of whom had even reached the intermediate realm.
He looked beside his name and saw that he was in the 32nd group. He had to face a guy named Leo in the first round. He did not know anything about him, but he assumed he was not weak. "Hmm, Leo, sounds like a weak guy, but I know not to underestimate him."
He saw Jason soon and Jason walked over to him "Hey bro, you made it. I was worried you would miss a chance to watch the immortal handsome king fight"
'What sort of ridiculous nickname is that?' Logan wanted to ask by kept his thoughts to himself.
"I was in a cultivation room, practising some skills. I lost track of time. Sorry for making you worry," Logan said ignoring Jason's words.
"It's okay, I'm glad you're here. How did your practice go? Did you learn anything new?" Jason asked.
"Yeah, I did. I finally finished learning the flame sword and the water barrier skills after being stuck for a while." Logan said. He decided to keep the essence of vibration thing a secret along with everything else about his monstrous perception.
"Come on, let's go to the waiting area. The matches will start soon," Jason said as he turned forward walking toward one of the empty seats beside him.
The matches soon began and the names of the fighters were announced one by one. Logan and Jason watched the fights on the screen, with Jason cheering for some unknown people and Logan could not help but wonder 'Isn't he supposed to be cheering for himself, man, I hope for the best outcome In his match when the time comes?'
He saw some impressive skills and techniques that he would like to learn later on as he watched the match.
'They were probably given out to the students by their families. Sigh, talking about family, do I have one?' he decided to let his thoughts wander, thinking about family he seemed to recall a blurry figure but he could not remember who the figure was no matter how hard he tried.
Logan's name was finally called. He stood up and walked to the arena majestically.
Multiple thoughts running through his head' This is it! It's time for me to show them what an otherworlder is capable of!'
He saw his opponent, Leo, waiting for him on the tall circular arena, it was made of solid bricks and the floor was exceptionally smooth and rough at same time, in essence it was carved and designed perfectly for fighting
He was a tall and muscular guy, with short blond hair and blue eyes, clad in the Azure faction wear just like Logan. He had a confident and arrogant expression on his face as he held a large axe that rested in his hand firmly.
He looked at Logan with disdain and smirked. "So you're my opponent. You don't look like much. You're just a skinny kid with a sword who got an affinity a few weeks ago. Do you think you can beat me?" Leo taunted.
Logan did not reply. 'To think that a little kid is trying to provoke me! I should probably damage him beyond repair before the match finishes.'
He knew that Leo was trying to provoke him and make him lose his focus so he did not let the words get to him and just chose to ignore him.
He concentrated on his breathing and calmed his mind.
The referee announced the rules and signalled the start of the match. Leo wasted no time and charged at Logan with his axe.
He swung it with great force, aiming to split Logan in half, although the axe was swung with great force and speed Logan was calm and collected, he could see the axe approaching slowly and he smiled,
Logan dodged to the side and avoided the attack.
"Quite fierce now aren't we? Take this!"
He counterattacked with his sword, slashing at Leo's arm, his speed was so great that Leo was almost unable to react but if he was that weak Logan would truly be disappointed. As he expected Leo managed to raise his axe in time to block the attack, bringing it up to his arm as a shield and the recoil pushed Logan back a few steps.
Logan staggered slightly.
Leo didn't let Logan rest and he followed up with another swing, but Logan parried it and kicked Leo in the chest.
'It's quite surprising for him to move that fast despite holding the slightly heave axe, I should probably let him show his skills more, afterall I'm not using up to thirty percent of my strength.'
Leo stumbled back and coughed.
He glared at Logan and snarled. "You're faster than I thought. But you're still too weak. You can't hurt me with that puny sword. Let me show you what real power is." Leo said. He activated an elemental skill: Earth smash.
He slammed his axe on the ground, creating a shockwave that cracked the floor and sent rocks flying at Logan. Logan was quite surprised because this attack was stronger that the previous ones, 'it seems he is finally being serious' he used his elemental skill: ice shield.
He created a shield of ice around him, blocking the various rocks aimed at him and the shockwave created by the attack. He then used his other elemental skill: the flame sword infusing his sword with his fire elemental essence, making it glow with a red light. Since the were finally using their elements, Logan wanted to see how good his element can be.
He dashed at Leo, cutting through the air with his sword. Leo saw the fire and was startled.
"Damn it!"
He did not expect Logan to have mastered two cultivation skills.
He tried to defend himself with his axe, but Logan was too fast.
Bang!
With a bang He slashed at Leo's shoulder, leaving a deep wound, the smell of charged flesh slowly filled the air around them.
Leo screamed in pain and dropped his axe. He fell to his knees and clutched his shoulder. He looked at Logan with fear and disbelief.
"How... how did you do that? How can you have two-element skills? That's impossible. You only just got your affinity with the essence of nature a couple of weeks ago so how?" Leo didn't expect him to have mastered two cultivation skill, he knew that Logan just got his affinity a few weeks ago so that was why he underestimated his opponent greatly but he never knew it would cost him the match.
Logan looked at him coldly and said with a sneer "You were calling me weak a few minutes ago, but when faced with real power you could only whine like a little child."
