Ais: It's Him!

Chapter 221 - Ais: It's Him!

Seeing the three of them standing at the exit, Riveria frowned.

She quickened her pace and moved forward, curious about what they were looking at and why they were waiting.

Then, she saw it.

In the floor chamber, Goliath, roared furiously.

It's scarred body towered over the battlefield as it clashed with a boy who looked to be around the same age as Ais.

This boy was fighting Goliath head-on.

"Who is that?" Riveria wondered, echoing the same question as Tione.

"What a fast sword..." Riveria murmured after a moment of observation, unable to hold back her astonishment.

The boy's sword was incredibly fast—so fast that even the first-class adventurers, who were used to the dangers of the 43rd floor, were impressed.

But there was more to it.

Facing Goliath's relentless and ferocious attacks, the boy moved as if he were strolling through a garden, effortlessly dodging every strike.

Goliath's powerful blows failed to land even a single hit on him.

Of course, avoiding Goliath's attacks alone was something Tione and Tiona could manage.

However, Goliath's strikes weren't always aimed at the boy.

Many of them hit the walls and the ground, shattering the stone and sending debris flying in all directions like a barrage of projectiles.

In such confined space, avoiding both Goliath's attacks and the flying debris was no easy task.

Even for first-class adventurers like them, it would take their full focus and effort to dodge everything.

Yet, the boy in the field managed it with ease.

What's more, he seemed to have plenty of room to spare, moving with a grace and calmness that none of the adventurers could match.

Not only was his movement fluid, but his swordsmanship was fierce.

Despite his small size compared to Goliath, the boy wielded an sword like weapon with precision, darting around the giant like a whirlwind.

The weapon danced in his hands like a butterfly, striking with a mix of stabs, slashes, and upward cuts.

Each attack was swift and violent, resembling a raging storm.

AHHHHH!

Every time the weapon struck, it cleanly cut through Goliath's tough skin, leaving deep wounds that made the monster roar in pain.

The boy's movements were so light and his swordsmanship so exquisite that the group at the exit couldn't help but be captivated.

"Ais, can you do that?" Tione suddenly asked Ais.

Hearing this, both Tiona and Riveria turned to look at Ais.

When faced with such a powerful adventurer, it was only natural for comparisons to arise.

However, Tione and Tiona were tank-type adventurers, and Riveria was a mage specializing in ranged attacks, so they couldn't be compared to the boy in the field.

Among the four of them, Ais was the only one whose fighting style was similar to his.

So, they couldn't help but wonder how Ais would fare in comparison.

To their surprise, Ais didn't answer.

Her gaze remained fixed on the boy in the field, her clear eyes slightly widened as she murmured with a hint of emotion, "It's him..."

"Ais, what's wrong?" Riveria asked, noticing the change in Ais's demeanor.

"Ais, do you know him?" Tiona's eyes lit up, and she asked eagerly, her tone filled with curiosity.

"Yes," Ais replied simply, nodding slightly.

Her eyes never left the boy, as if she were entranced by his movements.

For Ais, the so-called "Sword Princess," the boy's swordsmanship and agility were mesmerizing.

What's more, this boy was someone she had been thinking about for the past three days.

Now, he had finally appeared before her eyes.

Though Ais knew almost nothing about Mahiro beyond his name and familia, she felt an overwhelming urge to jump down, defeat Goliath herself, and strike up a conversation with him.

However, she suppressed the impulse.

In the dungeon, stealing another adventurer's monster was considered taboo.

"Is he an acquaintance?" Riveria asked.

This time, Ais didn't respond.

Her attention remained entirely focused on Mahiro.

"It seems he doesn't need our help at all. The guild's mission might be pointless," Tione remarked with a hint of resignation.

Although Mahiro's attacks weren't immediately fatal to Goliath, they were steadily wearing the floor boss down.

It was only a matter of time before Goliath fell.

"It doesn't matter. We can leave this to him," Riveria said indifferently.

For adventurers of their caliber, a floor boss like Goliath offered little in terms of experience or rewards.

The guild's mission and the dropped item by Goliath weren't particularly valuable to them.

"Once he's finished with Goliath, let's go introduce ourselves," Tiona suggested, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she watched Mahiro.

She was clearly intrigued by him.

"Ais, you'll have to introduce us properly," Tiona said, grabbing Ais's hand.

Her eyes shone with enthusiasm. "Such a powerful guy—I definitely want to get to know him."

Ais felt a pang of panic but, true to her stoic nature, showed little outward emotion.

Her face remained calm, though her heart raced at the thought of meeting Mahiro properly.
