Two Addicts

I checked my phone and saw a text message from Mika.

“Let’s meet at the cafeteria now if you're free. I'll get you a free soda,” the message said.

“Mika wants to meet. I'll see you later,” I said.

“Can I come with you?”

I couldn’t say no to my partner. Or rather, should I say my extremely handsome, tall, fair-skinned, charming partner. Whoa! He was my new crush, but I hadn’t felt it yet. I only had feelings for Mr. Phenyo.

I found Mika sitting alone with two cans of soda and a plate with pancakes and sunny-side-up eggs.

“I said come alone,” said Mika.

“Actually, you didn’t, but here I am now. What is this about?”

“Take a seat first.”

Sam and I sat down.

“I want to work with you. I know you have a new partner and everything, but I still want to work with you,” said Mika.

Sam chuckled.

“And what about Katleho? She is your partner,” I asked.

“We could be a team. I’m sure she won’t mind if we add you.”

“What about Sam?”
