Gates Appeared

17 years have passed since Thomas was reborn. with his new name, Clark Benjamin.

Clark (Thomas) finds his new life very peaceful and interesting, everything was very new to him, Take a smartphone for an example that hinders a question to him. 'What kind of magical item is this, that these people are sticking their heads in so much?'

He gets to learn all sorts of things, from kitchen stuff, to TV in the living- room, etc. Children's toy, which he absolutely hated. The new concept of life was flabbergasted to him, he was awed how, in his time, things were difficult to do, here they would be done in minutes or seconds.

The most interesting thing to him was the military Since he was the commander of a large army, all he thought about was what would happen if war broke out. What else would he take interest in?

Whenever he saw something, usually he would think, 'if this thing were present in my time, things would have been easy' take messages from smartphones for example. One click and done.

Nevertheless, his obsession and delusion of war broke out at the age of 3, and now he is 17 and living a relaxing life with only the troubles of this world.

Clark sat at the edge of a cliff with both of his legs hanging down and swinging around, his pure silver hairs were waving here and there by the cool wind that was dancing in the surrounding.

With his blue eyes, he glared at the marvelous scene filled with the sun setting in between the two massive hills, as if the light, warm ball were hiding behind the land.

The green trees on the ground illustrate as if it were the ground covered in green bushes and grass and a clear crystal river flowing in plain land.

'How long has it been since I was reborn?' his tone of speaking had changed not only that but his manners were indifferent. 'My memories of the past are still with me' even though he was in his new life, the memories of the past were still in his soul, not in mind.

For Clark it was still a query that he had in mind. Something he couldn't figure out on his own, not even advanced technology had the answer for his question.

An angry, loud voice emerged from the lower ground, that was below the cliff, "Clark! Get away from that place, you will fall," was his mother's worrisome voice packed with anger. "Come down, we can't stay here forever."

Along with his mother, his father was also standing with two kids beside him. They were Clark's siblings. Jin and Sima.

Clark grinned down to his mother and said, "I'm coming, wait for me," which she could barely notice. He got up from the edge and rubbed the dust off his hands. Clark ran to the opposite side to the end cliff.

While racing down and avoiding the bushes and trunks of trees, Clark sensed as if someone was staring at him, his instinct was guarded, and he tilted his head to the right while running.

Bewilderment fell on his mind and eyes were fixed at the living organism that was watching him from a distance.

'He–' Clark recognized the living being, it was the same man who wore wizard-like clothes and a red cloak. This time, he didn't have any books in hand.

The man smiles at him contently, his lips falling apart and mutedly moving. He was saying something that Clark noticed but couldn't hear.

Even when he couldn't hear, he was able to understand what words were thrusting out from the man's in motion lips. Reading the lips movements, Clark learned what that man was saying.

"How's your second life going, Thomas?"

He was so focused on the man that he didn't realize there was a thick trunk of a tree in front of him.

'Crash'

'Argh'

After colliding with the trunk, Clark fell to the ground and covered his face with his hands immediately.

'Ow,Ow,Ow, it hurts!'

Holding his nose, he got up and glanced at the direction in which the man was standing. but to his surprise, there was no man standing there as if he perished in thin air.

'Was I hallucinating?' he asked himself in confusion. While softly cocking his head, his nose turned red, and a bruise was made.

"I definitely saw someone," he said, skeptical whether it was just an illusion or if there really was a person. Nonetheless, it wasn't a matter that was important, "Right! I need to get out from here."

He raced down the cliff and met the others, who were waiting for him down the cliff.

The second he met them, the scolding from his mother started, "Are you out of your mind, Clark? Why on earth would you sit at such a dangerous place? What if the edge falls, taking you with it?"

"Did you fall?"

"Something like that, but look, I'm fine and well, standing in front of you, aren't I?" Clark showed his smile to his mother and said, "By the way, what will be for today's dinner?" It was a question to distract his mother from any further scolding.

"Don't try to change the topic, Clark." A little more scolding came from his mother's mouth, Clark even gazed at his father, gesturing to ask for his help, but received a small and awkward smile.

Jin teased Clark from behind his father but also received scolding when his mother caught him doing that.

The five of them entered the car and ran in on the road that was made on the side of the cliff, right side was rising up, and the left side of the cliff was falling down, which wasn't as deep down as the edge where Clark was sitting.

The two kids in the car's back seat were playing with Pokémon cards, while Clark, sitting at the right corner of the back seat, was enjoying the incoming air while watching the motion of the scene.

"No, your playing it all wrong, Jin"

"I'm playing it right; your playing it wrong."

The two kids were arguing about the right way to play with cards. Their voices were loud and it created noise in the car.

Glaring from the rearview mirror, Sharon (the kid's mother) said in a grave tone, "Kids, keep it down."

"They are obsessed with those cartoon cards," Sharon said while keeping her stare straight.

"It's normal, you know," Arin (kids Father) said with a smile, then he glanced through the rearview mirror at Clark before looking back at the road. "Kids, you know, when your big brother was at your age, he wanted to open his own toy store, shoe store, and weapon store."

Clark swiftly said, "Father, let's not talk about that!" he said with an embarrassed look. 'It isn't like that, I just wanted to help those kids who didn't have money' internally, he said.

A habit from his previous life. Helping the poor.

"Really!" Both kids' eyes sparkled with admiration as they looked at Clark.

Clark embarrassingly gave out a soft laugh and said, "I was just a kid at that time."

The silence between the parents continued and the two kids kept playing with the cards while Clark continued to stare outside the car's window.

Abruptly, black thick clouds covered the sky in no time. "Is it going to rain?" Sharon asked in an unpleasant look while staring at the thick clouds.

"A heavy rain might be coming," Arin said while driving.

"What's that?" Sharon, with a puzzled voice, said, what she saw on the road was a portal that covered the whole roadway.

Clark turned his face and stretched his body enough to bring him between the two front seats.

"What is that?" Clark said it with bewilderment. Arin, who was engulfed in focus while looking at the portal, didn't realize they were leaping closer.

Then thick, muscular feet emerged from the portal. The family's eyes went wide in fear upon seeing the monster, which seemingly was a giant green muscular orc with black marks on his upper naked body.

His complete red eyes glared at the approaching vehicle, and the orc roared at it, thinking of it as an enemy.

'GGAAARRRRHHH'

"Father, stop the car!" Clark shouted to his father, it was too late to do so.

'Crash'

The car's front part collapsed with the orc's abdomen. The one to face the damage was the car's front area, while the orc faced no injury or pain.

Placing his hands beneath the car. The tyres were lifted up from the touch of the ground, along with the car itself.

The people inside were a bit dizzy because of the crash, Clark, the only one, stared at the ridiculously strong monster.

"We need to get out of—" Before Clark could finish his sentence, the monster threw the car off the cliff with his brutal strength.

'Thud' 'Thud' 'Thud'

The car rolled around many times before stopping on the plain surface after hitting a tree trunk. The car was upside down, with the people inside profoundly wounded.

They were all unconscious except Clark, with his half bloody body outside the broken window and legs inside.

His eyes were barely staying open with things that were somewhat blurry.

'My head' Clark said inwardly, 'Am I going to die again'

Just as the thought of his death came to mind, a bright red screen materialized before his two eyes.

'What's this glowing light?' He could hardly see anything. The voice of a male rang in his ears that was deep.

The screen was in rectangular shape, with its red light reflecting on Clark's face.

It was a system screen with text written on it, [In a few seconds, you and your family will die, Would you like to save them?]

The words clearly flooded in his mind without his need to read, he didn't have much time; rather, he was losing consciousness.

The one word that came from his vulnerable mouth was, "yes," and his eyelids blocked his vision afterwards.
