The True Charnel.01

It also illuminated the long rectangular box she was on.

"Woah!"

"Holy Moly-I mean Mary mother of God....." Morani started to pray.

Ramone the torch all over the room they were in.

" This- This is a cold room," Morani noticed.

" I didn't know we had a cold room, we only eat meat once a month," Kage said looking around.

Moriah then started to slowly open the large box.

"What are you doing?!"

"Are you seriously thinking of opening that box,"

Moriah sighed a disgruntled sigh and continued on what she was doing.

"Oh my gosh- I mean God, I can't watch,"

The coffin wasn't nailed in as they weren't to bury her yet. So the lid was lifted up easily by Moriah.

Immediately Morani heard the sound she took her palms off her eyes and gasped when she saw the once alive body lying cold inside the coffin.

"Oh Elliam..."

They all looked at the deathly purple pale body of the girl in melancholic silence as they one by one made the sign of the cross.

"Rest in peace,"

"Rest in peace, Elliam,"

"Rest in peace, Eli,"

"Rest in peace..... Elliam, sorry I didn't get to know you better,"

"Indeed, rest in peace, you shall be missed by all of us,"

They all nodded in agreement and solemness, remaining in place for a little while.

Then slowly they all sensed something off.

"Wait a second, who said that?!" Morani asked suddenly.

Their only light, the torch, went out at that crucial moment suddenly.

"Ooooh nooo!!"

"It's her ghost! She angry at you, Kage!!"

Almost immediately after, the banging restarted.

" Holy cows, what do we do now?! Moriah?"

" I think we should RUUUUUN!!!!" Screamed she, speaking for the second time, as they all ran blindly through the darkness to the other trap door above.

They all climbed the stairs at the same time to the above. "Get out of Ramone's way, Kage!"

Somehow through the chaos they managed to fit the key into its lock and come out of the underground.

But highly unfortunately, a fate worse than death awaited them aboveground.

•••••••

"Yes! Yes! Aboveground, awwww, I missed you,"

"Gosh, that was so freaky!"

" I wonder who that voice was?"

"Who cares? I'm just so glad we're all alive, it would been awkward turning up with one less..... "

" Stop talking!"

Moriah whispered angrily.

" Oh c'mon, I'm just saying....."

Morani stopped when she saw in front of them pair of silent angry boots.

She shivered and looked up at the cold face of Mother Essyher.

The children's hearts dropped, they felt so helpless and scared that they could not stand up. They only stayed on the floor, shaking in apprehension and fear.

I'm

It was only Moriah whom was calm(or atleast she looked like she was calm)enough to stand up.

Moriah stood up despite the heavy weight of fear and trepidation weighing down her heart and looked at Mother Essyher whom stood in front of other staffs whom also wore dark robes, their countenances and their outfits and their stance struck a great deal of tenseness in the children's heart.

Moriah lowered her head immediately her eyes met the cold viciousness of the nun's gaze.

Mother Essyher glared at Moriah's bowed head and said,"Kelp? Khloe?"

"Yes, Mother,"

"Yes, Mother," They answered.

"Take these children to the room,"

"Yes, mother,"

They grabbed the children and made to grab Moriah.

" Leave her, I shall take her myself,"

When those words left her lips, Moriah sighed, feeling like she'd been given a death sentence.

They were all taken to her office, where she stood before them like an insidious mountain.

Then they went back to the trap door and double locked it with even heavier padlocks.

••••••

Back to the foreboding darkness of the underground, the torch that had been discarded by Ramone was picked up by a cold hand.

The owner hit it twice the light blinked to life.

The monster under the trap door continued to growl unknown if it was due to anger or something else.

The figure in the darkness shined the torch towards the trap door while walking towards it.

It bent down and tapped the door.

"Shhhhhhhhh, down boy, down,"

The growling slowly lulled to a silence.

Satisfied, the figure walked back to the cold room and picked up the discarded lid of the coffin.

It walked to the casket and grabbing hold of it pulled it out of the room and dragged it right under the bright presaging moonlight.

The figure made to walk away but then, again caught sight of the pale deathly face of the dead girl.

He stopped and lowered himself to the casket, then putting his palms on her face and caressing it with a smile playing on his lips,

"We meet again, finally,"

•••••••

Mother Essyher had her back turned to the children, who were waiting like convicts on the guillotine for the blade to fall on their heads.

"Well, children I'm surprised, sneaking out at night to the underhouse,

A place you know is highly restricted to all of you, yet ignoring and disobeying our rules, left your residences," She chuckled and lighted a cigarette.

" Now you will tell me what you four snuck out to do there,"

She turned around.

All four of them mentally turned to one another, with questioning looks on their face but kept mum. The nun noticing their silence, frowned.

"Are you all keeping quiet?"

She was responded by silence.

She raised an eyebrow and sighed, a ok-now-I-have-no-control-over-what-I-do-to-you-especially-if-it-hurts-you sigh.

"The impudence," She hmmm-ed.

"Indeed, ma'am," the servants responded.

"The impudence!!" She said with sudden viciousness then took a deep breath to put herself in-check.

She turned around again and looked at the cover lying on the table, a wistful looking long strip of tobacco smelling smoke spreading from it's lighted end, then shook her head both ways.

"The two of you, Morani and Kage, will spend three days in...."

Morani and Kage waited with baited breath for the rooms they would be assigned to.

"...in the Water Cycle, the Spinning Chair, the White Noise House and shall have your afternoon and nightly meals skipped for the first two days,"

They both sighed in resignation.

" And.... You, Moriah? "

"Yes, Mother."

"Ramone?"

"Yes, Mother. "

The nun turned around.

" Your punishments will be a 'surprise' and will last a week,

That is all, take them to the room, "

The servants grabbed them and pushed them into the room, locking them in.

••••••

The 'room' was a very small and narrow place, dark except for the small ray of moonlight that shone through a crack in the ceiling. If it could even be called a ceiling.

The 'room' was extremely delapitated, with thin roofs and shaking walls, insects and rodents thrived at the corners of the room, this room, being more exposed, was very cold and icy, and the walls were slick from the ice they had on them.

There were discarded and useless furniture all over the place.

Ramone was holding an extra torch and she lighted it and shined it around the place.

"Good golly, I didn't think I'd be back here," Ramone said trying to play calm, but a noticeable creep of dread could be heard in her voice.

She shined the torches on Moriah, Moriah was facing a wall, her head was hanging down and her fists were clenched.

"Mot-Moriah? You okay?"

Moriah took deep ragged breaths trying to control her feelings.

Her angry deep breaths lulled to a light breathing.

"I-it's r-rea-really cold, I-I think w-we s-s-should cuddle close, i-it's really c-co-cold," Morani squeezed out of the chattering of her teeth as she body shivered almost violently in the cold.

"No. Just go to sleep, we'll be through with all this faster if we stay on our own," Moriah said and then pulled a tattered old shawl from underneath a broken cupboard then laid on the ground and covered herself which wasn't much cover as there were multiple large holes on it.

"Oh, boy," Kage suddenly breathed out.

He was a corner squirming.

"Oh, boy, oh boy, oh boy...."

"Kage, are you ok?"

Kage continued with his jabberings.

Ramone and Morani ran to him and shook him. He continued to take in quick short tense breaths.

"I think he's having a panic attack!!" Ramone noticed and tried calming him down.

"O-oh, great s-so-someone else is g-gon-gonna d-die t-t-tonight," Morani said looking at Kage hyperventilating.

"D-do-don't think t-tha-that'd be s-so-someone b-ba-bad, though," She chuckled lightly. But still she tried to help calm him.

Just then Ramone and Morani were pushed out of the way by someone.

It was Moriah, she put Kage to the wall and said, "Deep breaths," while herself taking deep breaths. Kage followed her movements and was soon breathing normally again as he calmed down.

Moriah watched for a while, then stood up and went back to her spot. Kage for some reason followed her and sat beside her. Immediately he did, Moriah stood back up, simultaneously pulled out a handkerchief out of her dress pocket and pressed it against Kage's face.

Immediately she did, he fell down and soon started breathing normally, indicating he was asleep.
