Current situation

Currently Emery was on the train. Again. Luckily this time she wasnt getting herself choked. Instead she was more busy fiddling with her phone. Did she want to be here? No. Was she planning to be here? Again no. So why was she here? Well as much as she hated traveling by train they were the only (and fastest) transportation method from Shahi to Jeili. So here she was again. Riding the railways of hell. To pass the time she got herself busy by looking at cat videos again.

[It was like her favorite pastime other than reading and cooking because, like, who doesn't like cute cat videos!? Unless you are a dog person which is completely understandable but my point stands. Everyone likes looking at cute videos.]

Now one may ask what she was planning to do once she reached Jeili city. Like, what was she thinking? Oh I don't know, maybe stop the terrorists herself or do something crazy to get the terrorists their retribution? So what was the answer? Well the answer was very simple. It was nothing. Absolutely nothing.

She just wanted to go to Yushimakun's and destress herself by filling her belly with high calorie goodies. And why could she not do it while still staying in Sahi city? An even easier answer. It was because she was a dead tired introvert that had no plans on using her social energy and so went to the one place that was so used to her regular arrival that her servings and table were at the level to almost be the equivalent of being booked.

So, if you are asking whether or not she traveled a few hours long journey going from one city to another just because she didn't feel like communicating then the answer was yes. You are absolutely correct. Now going back to the story.

The cafe she chose was on the other side of the city from where the bombing was happening so she had no problem going there. It was, according to her, the perfect peaceful heaven where there will be no one to bother her from grieving in peace. She could almost feel tears arriving from remembering just how many of her favorite books had been destroyed. Yet she still stood strong, well, sat and continued watching her cat videos.

Within a few hours she had reached Jeili Train Station. This time coming out of the train station she did not have to come face to face with chaos so she was already feeling cheered up. ' It seems that in the last 5 days things have already started to have calmed down. ' she thought to herself.

But it is to be noted that even this much calmer atmosphere than before was still a lot more tense than before the incident. Emery could feel a light tense in the air and it was as if a fight could break out any minute now and the peace and calm was nothing but a veil.

By what she understood of the current situation everyone seemed to have been divided and separate groups had formed. The first division was between those who got new memories and those who didn't. This was the biggest division that in just a few days seemed to have divided the whole world into two. Only due to these two groups most changes in society were seen and was also one of the biggest reasons for the recent chaos.

How? Let me explain. Imagine there is a couple or a group of friends that are very close to each other and can do anything for each other. At least this was the case till the mass regression. The situation changed as people got memories of the future and also became aware of the people around them.

People became distant with the people who betrayed them in the future yet the other party had no clue as to why they were acting the way they were acting. And this was not the only situation.

There were also cases of several people fighting over the same lottery ticket or people bidding their entire life's fortune trying to buy the same piece of land or item because of the value those would bring in the future. This had caused a major crisis in the stock market and many other sectors. Not to mention the increased amount of violence.

The people from the tower were more used to using their fists and it had become very common for fights to easily break out amongst the crowd in the last few days. Only recently have those violent tendencies come down. But it was not completely gone. The recent terrorist attack was an example of how there were still too extreme a people walking around.

The second division that happened was between the people who regressed. Factions from the future were still valid and many chose to follow their past faction. This caught a lot of problems for the law enforcement at first but soon became one of the biggest helping hands in maintaining the situation.

The previous leaders of the factions and various powerful people in the organization reached out to control the situation. Due to all of them reaching a conclusion and deciding to control their forces, fights broke out a lot less and the situation was a lot more stable.

Emery couldn't be more happy about this part. Less chaos meant less trouble coming her way so she was all for it. The only part in this entire situation that bothered her was the most recent.' It's such a pity that they couldn't stop the terrorists couldn't be stopped before they destroyed the novel house. 'She couldn't help but complain.

' Well whatever. At least I'm not involved in the whole regressor business. That part of the world can just go figure things out on their own. ' thought Emery optimistically. Since she did not have a complete understanding of the overall situation she did not want to waste her time speculating needlessly. Much more important things were awaiting for her.

As to what they were? Well of course they were a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream and a double layered triple chocolate sprinkled cake. Just the very thought made her drool. 'Maybe I can also buy the lastest adventure hyped book from the nearest Barnhouse and Novels.' Emery thought to herself whistling and walking away with a bounce in her steps.
