Tyler stood at the coffee shop encounter, sipping his morning latte. He gazed out the window, lost in thought as the bustling city came to life suddenly someone bumped into him making him spill his coffee.
"Oh shit I'm sorry "Mia apologized picking up a napkin from the counter and hand it over to Tyler whose suit is already covered in coffee as their hands touched they both felt an unexpected jolt
"I'm sorry again" she apologized again
"No worries I needed a refill anyways but please watch where you're going to next time" Tyler smiled and Mia nodded and they part ways. Tyler couldn't stop thinking about her as he got to his office.
Mia walked to her class she's an art student she saw her friends Chloe and Sara.
"Girl why are you just coming" Chloe asked
"I bumped into a guy and spill his coffee " she explained
"Oh shit! Is he hot?" Sara asked and Mia sent her a glance
"You know maybe it's just like a novel I'm reading currently where fate brought two people together"
"Wow the novel seems nice, do you feel any spark while talking to him. You know like an electric jolt " Chloe asked and Mia blushed
"Maybe…. When I handed him a napkin I felt a jolt" she whispered
"See, fate! It's like the universe is pushing you two together. you have to see him again and see where this goes" Sara exclaimed and Mia laughed
" slow down Sara let's not get ahead of ourselves…. I don't even know this guy "Mia said
"But….." Sara tried to talk but Chloe cut her off
"Sara the lecturer is here " they all kept quiet they marked attendance before the lecturer started teaching
" In the world of art, the possibilities are endless, and the boundaries are only those we place upon ourselves"

Tyler's eyes remained fixed on the spreadsheet before him, his mind numbed by the endless rows of numbers. His phone buzzed breaking the moment and he reluctantly answered
"Hey mom" he said, his voice laced with a mix of exhaustion and frustration
"Tyler, sweetie, how's my favorite don doing" his mom asked, hee cheerful tone a stark contrast to his own melancholy tyler sighed, rubbing his temple
"I'm your only son and I'm fine mom just busy with work and all" his mom scoffed
" busy, busy, always busy "his mom voice tinged with a hint of disappointment
" you need to take a break from that office of yours and start living life. You're not getting any younger neither is your father nor I am. You know right?"
Tyler leaned back in his chair his gaze drifting out of the window " I know mom. I just need to finish get some projects done "
"Project will always be there but opportunities connect with people, to find love and joy, those don't come around as often" his mom said hee word piercing his defenses.
" you're still young and carrying around that baggage from your past, but it's time to let it go out, meet new people, find someone special. It's been 5years already Ty. You deserve to be happy sweetie, you've been hurting for too Long."
Tyler grip on the phone tightened his mind rebelling against her words. He didn't need her reminding him of his past, of the scars that still lingers but his mom's voice was relentless, his heart breaks fully knowing that his mom is unhappy.
"Ready or not life is passing you by Tyler." She says her softening." Don't let fear hold you back. Go out there and live sweetheart and don't forget to have fun"
The line was silent and Tyler knew his mom was waiting for a response. He took a deep breath the weight of her words settling upon him.
"I'll try mom " he finally responded
"That's a good start. I love you sweetheart come home when you're less busy or don't you miss me? " she asked and Tyler chuckled.
" I missed you mom and I love you. I promise I'll come home when I'm less busy. I have to go now mom" he said before hanging up taking a deep breath in. Memories from the past came back in a flash he shook his head in pain.
Mia, Chloe and Sara got out of their lecture room.
"Damn that woman is strict and tense. She needs a good body massage or a good fuck" Chloe said and they all laughed
" she's nice tho " Mia murmured and Sara looked at her in shock.
" girl I love you and all that but bitch don't say that again I'm gonna hate you " she yelled playfully
They got to their penthouse Mia plopped down on the couch.
"I still can't get over this penthouse we need to meet your brother soon and thank him" Mia said and Sara nodded in agreement.
"Okay girlies movie night " Chloe yelled.
The next morning the girls woke up feeling
refreshed and rejuvenated. They spent last night Watching movies. As they gathered in the kitchen, Chloe flipped on the coffee maker while Mia and Sara sat at the island, rubbing the sleep from their eyes.
"Morning, sunshine!" Chloe chirped, handing out steaming cups of coffee. Mia yawned, taking a sip
"ahh just what I needed." Sara stretched, her hair tangled from sleep.
" what's the plan for today?" Sara asked and Chloe grinned mischievously " well I was thinking we could hit the spa, get some pampering in or we could just lounge around here and enjoy the view"
Mia and Sara exchanged a look and then shrugged in unison "why choose? Let's do both!"
They all clinked their cups together in a toast, ready to take on the day in style. After a leisurely morning at the penthouse. The girls decided to go out, treat themselves to a day of pampering and shopping. They got dressed, grab their purses and headed out in the sunny ready to indulge in some much-needed self care and quality time together.
" I need a new book" Mia said, hee eyes scanning the shelves of a nearby bookstore.
"Me too " Sara agreed "something juicy and gossip-worthy. They walked into the bookstore and bought some books then Chloe led them to a nice boutique nearby, where they spent the next hour trying on dresses. They oohed and ahhed over the latest fashion trends.
Next they strolled through the upscale mall popping into their favorite stores and indulging in some retail therapy. They tried on shoes, sampled fragrances.
As the afternoon wore on, they decided to take a break and grab some coffee at a cozy cafe over latte and pastries they chatted their favorite finds and enjoyed each other's company.
