Chapter 260: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Premieres! (22)
The gripping plot twists of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure kept every viewer on edge. No one could have imagined that, even after such fierce battles, Dio still survived.
This shocking revelation left everyone deeply unsettled, dreading what terrifying battles might come next.
To everyone's surprise, however, the story then shifted to Jonathan and his companions.
Jonathan and Erina had already been married, and a considerable time had passed since he destroyed the Stone Mask.
Following their wedding, the couple embarked on their honeymoon. After bidding farewell to Speedwagon and the others, they boarded a ship bound for a foreign land.
On the ship, Jonathan and Erina enjoyed their trip in blissful contentment, unaware that, hidden among the clutter in the cargo hold below, lay an ornate coffin.
A drunken priest, having dropped his cross, ventured below deck to retrieve it.
When the priest reached the hold and retrieved his cross, he was startled to discover that the elegant coffin was locked—from the inside.
"Crack!"
In that instant, as the priest registered this peculiar sight, a strange force smashed his head, leaving him lifeless on the floor.
Meanwhile, back in the dining room, Jonathan spotted a poison peddler and, intrigued, immediately followed him. He arrived at the cargo hold and witnessed the lifeless priest on the ground.
"Dio!"
Seeing Dio's brain inside the coffin, Jonathan's expression was one of utter disbelief.
"JoJo, look at me. This humiliating state you see me in, I intended for you to witness it. Why, you ask? Because, JoJo, I now respect the very person I once mocked relentlessly. I respect your courage, your spirit, your strength. I've come to realize that."
"If not for you, I would never have obtained the power of the Stone Mask. Yet because of you, this world still eludes my grasp! If gods truly exist, weaving the threads of our fates, then a bond like ours—so intricately calculated—must be one of a kind!"
"In this world, we are like two parts of a whole. In other words, I must claim the body of the one person I truly respect and live on in eternal brilliance. That is my destiny as Dio! I won't let you suffer—that is my final tribute to my rival!"
As he finished his speech, Dio's eyes released a piercing liquid that shot through Jonathan's neck, a sight that Erina, arriving just in time, witnessed in horror.
With his neck impaled, Jonathan could no longer use Hamon. Meanwhile, a swarm of vampires created by Dio began rampaging through the ship, leaving destruction in their wake.
Facing insurmountable odds, Jonathan mustered the last of his Hamon energy in his hands. As the poison dealer, now carrying Dio's head, charged toward him, Jonathan unleashed a desperate, powerful blow.
"Bang!"
The poison dealer shrieked in agony as Hamon surged through him, forcing his body into a wild, uncontrollable frenzy. In his crazed state, he began tearing apart the ship's drive shaft.
Realizing the ship was about to explode, Erina slowly approached Jonathan. She kissed him, embracing the idea of facing death together with her beloved husband.
But Jonathan, barely clinging to life, pointed toward a staircase. There, amid the carnage caused by the vampires, a baby—crying and innocent—had somehow survived.
"You want me to rescue this child, left behind by a stranger, and seek refuge? Such courage feels unbearably cruel. My final wish is to die here with you."
As Erina struggled with despair, Jonathan summoned his remaining strength and said:
"That mother died to protect her child. My mother met the same fate. Take that child—quickly…"
Hearing his words, Erina hesitated for a moment before making her decision.
But even at this moment, Dio refused to give up. He desperately ordered the vampires to stop the ship from exploding, and even extended his veins in a last-ditch effort to seize Jonathan's body.
Jonathan, however, seized the final opportunity and plunged his blade deep into Dio. He held Dio's severed head in his arms, ensuring the vampire could no longer act.
Dio still attempted to struggle, but as he lifted his gaze, he realized that Jonathan, though wide-eyed, had already stopped breathing.
"Boom!"
A massive explosion erupted, engulfing the ship in flames. No one escaped the destruction—except for Erina, who, clutching the surviving infant, found refuge in the ornate coffin Dio had prepared. The coffin shielded them as the ship sank, sparing their lives.
With that, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure came to a close.
...
When the final scene of the movie faded out, most of the audience realized they had been holding their breath, fully immersed in the story unfolding on screen.
The protagonist Jonathan's and Dio's mutual destruction left everyone with a lump in their throat—a feeling of indescribable unease. Many viewers found themselves shedding tears of sorrow.
After all, while many stage plays end in tragedy, the impact of those endings rarely compares to the crushing weight a film can deliver.
At that moment, the entire audience was stunned by the movie's conclusion. It wasn't until the theater lights came back on that they shakily rose from their seats.
"That was… incredible! But still…"
"It's just not enough—why did it have to end here?!"
"Yeah, Jonathan actually died. How could they do that to Erina? It's so cruel!"
"That bastard Dio! In the end, he dragged Jonathan down with him."
"I really want to know what happens next…"
The audience's reaction was predictable. Not just in the southern region, but also in the eastern and western regions, viewers were left similarly shocked and disheartened. Many were echoing the cries heard before: "I'll die if I can't watch another movie!"
But no matter how much they pleaded, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was officially over.
Eventually, they could only leave the theater in disappointment.
Just then, they noticed another group of people emerging from the adjacent screening room.
In contrast to the energized, exhilarated audience who had just watched JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, this other group wore perplexed and disgusted expressions, as if they were desperately trying to erase what they had just experienced.
"That movie was amazing!"
"That movie was a steaming pile of garbage!"
The two starkly opposing verdicts left both sides dumbfounded. Staring at one another, they found themselves completely at a loss.
