The Disgusting Truth

The disgusting truth overwhelmed me like an avalanche of injustice, shame, and rage, crashing down like a tsunami. I just lay there, giving in to my emotions, sobbing uncontrollably.

He didn't try to stop me or pull me up; he simply let me cry my heart out, standing steadfastly beside me, watching me indifferently, as if to prevent me from throwing myself into the river again.

Gradually, I quieted my cries and struggled to get up, my body soaked and chilling, causing me to shiver continuously. "Thank you for saving me!" My voice was hoarse and trembling.

He shrugged off his own coat and walked towards me, draping his jacket over my shoulders. Although it was also wet, it carried his warmth, providing me an unexpected comfort, a solace for my soul in that moment.
