A Shameless Family

Lost in my chaotic thoughts, I fell into a deep sleep. In my dreams, images of George and Fiona in compromising situations haunted me, along with their cruel treatment of my daughter and me. I woke up crying, unable to release the anger boiling inside me.

The morning birdsong gradually calmed me down. I got up, freshened up, and went downstairs. I hadn't yet taken the time to truly appreciate the stunning beauty of this resort, and I didn't want to miss the chance to enjoy such lovely scenery.

By the time Joy found me, the sky was bathed in the glow of a rising sun, heralding a new day.

"Did you sleep well?" Joy asked, examining my face with great concern.

I managed a smile, "Very well, thank you!"

"There you go again! Don't thank me," he said, taking my hand. "Hungry? Let's have breakfast!"

The breakfast was sumptuous, and I ate heartily, knowing I needed the energy to face everything back home.
