The Day Has Come

Today is Monday.

I have important matters to attend to, with many people waiting for me, along with those troubles.

When I arrived at the office, the usually noisy space was unnervingly quiet, making me wonder if I had entered the wrong floor.

Just as I reached my office, James knocked and strode in, looking like he hadn't slept well but trying to appear cheerful, "Ms. Miller, is today's meeting starting on time?"

"Yes, why wouldn't it? It's on schedule," I replied, scrutinizing his face, curious about his excitement.

He quickly perked up, "Good, then I'll confirm that right away."

At ten o'clock, I entered the large conference room filled with a noisy crowd. People were loudly discussing how to pressure me into settling accounts today.

Before the meeting, I had invited Brooklyn, my personal lawyer, who also handles legal matters for Elevate since I took over.
