Chapter 8 Tyler's Arrival_1

```
Three weeks later.
Dr. Luo Ji's manor welcomed a visitor, Frederick Tyler.
He moved hesitantly forward, seemingly not wanting to disturb anything here, his soul drifting through this paradise-like scenery. He greedily admired the picturesque view, but his haggard eyes also alienated him from the pleasant, dusky twilight.
In his eyes, there was a strong sense of unwillingness, a bit of fear, and mostly a plea. The beautiful scenery did not keep him enthralled for long.
Lin Sen and Luo Ji had also come early to meet him. They had known a few days ago about Tyler's wallbreaking; the PDC had informed the other Wallfacers immediately.
Luo Ji couldn't help being shocked; was this what a Wallfacer looked like after being wallbroken? Lin Sen had predicted it all.
Lin Sen himself found it strange; the timeline had advanced by half a year, suggesting that his arrival somehow changed the world's timeline. Perhaps the constraints of history were not so strong, and a small disturbance could bring about a great change!
Luo Ji gestured for Tyler to sit down on a white chair on the lawn. As soon as Tyler sat down, his body slumped as if all his energy had been drained, like a long-distance traveler who had finally reached his destination.
Then, Tyler recounted the whole process of how he was wallbroken...
Tyler's Wallbreaker appeared and disclosed his plan. The plan had only just begun when it was wallbroken.
Tyler's plan involved using the Spherical Lightning Weapon to launch a surprise attack on the Human Fleet, quantumizing them, to combat the Trisolarans with the Quantum Fleet.
Tyler believed that the Quantum Fleet was invincible because a fleet that had been destroyed could not be destroyed again, and those who had died could not die a second time.
If, after the attack, a portion of the Quantum Fleet was still capable of combat and the rest did not turn against humanity, his objective would have been achieved.
A little explanation: Ball Lightning itself is a weapon. It's an excited state of macroelectrons, which can be understood as a two-dimensional expansion of electrons.
Ball Lightning is capable of macrofusion reactions, powerful enough to destroy half a country. Of course, it also has a downside: its slow speed makes it easier to dodge and defend against.
Those hit by the Ball Lightning are turned into a quantum state, such as the Quantum Fleet and Quantum Life, which are the products of being struck by Ball Lightning.
They exist following quantum rules, existing as probability clouds, in between a quantum state and a collapsed state.
Tyler hypothesized that the appearance of Quantum Life follows probability clouds, with a certain chance of appearing inside the Trisolaran Interstellar Fleet and being able to attack the fleet through quantum entanglement or other means.
At the same time, the Trisolarans probably have no way of eradicating these Quantum Ghosts. If there are enough Quantum Lives, the Trisolarans cannot occupy the Solar System, and humanity may be able to negotiate with them.
As for the idea of defeating the Trisolarans, Tyler did not have it, nor was it possible.
Tyler used Ball Lightning as a breakthrough. On the surface, Ball Lightning is the most powerful weapon humanity has encountered, and this research could gain full support from the PDC. Essentially, he was prepared to sacrifice the entire fleet, to make the Trisolarans retreat upon assessing the difficulty.
Such a plan lacked twists and misdirection and did not contain enough deceitful traps; it was too straightforward. John von Neumann became the first Wallbreaker.
In the end, von Neumann left a message: "It doesn't matter whether Earth's fleet is in a collapsed state or a quantum state, whether human space warriors are alive or Quantum Ghosts, the sovereign doesn't care."
Now, Tyler was on the verge of collapse.
Firstly, his plan was deemed worthless, rendering his years of effort futile.
Secondly, his identity as a Wallfacer created a communication barrier with everyone else; no one could hear his thoughts, everyone believed he had not been wallbroken.
Thirdly, his conscience's condemnation; being observed for his sinful soul made it difficult for him to even breathe.
As Luo Ji listened to his outpouring, he wanted to offer comfort but did not know what to say. He could only go along with Tyler's words as they spoke.
In the end, Luo Ji decided to remain silent and could only respond to Tyler with a helpless, bitter smile.
Then, the scene from the original timeline unfolded.
Tyler stared intently at Luo Ji. He didn't know why he had come to find Luo Ji; perhaps he thought Wallfacers should be different.
After all, they were kindred spirits, but fate was so mocking.
A trace of a smile spread across his pale face, growing bigger and louder with laughter.
It finally turned into a hysterical one: "Hahaha... You laughed, a Wallfacer's laugh, one Wallfacer laughed at another!
You also think I'm working; you think I've done a good job pretending, continuing to save the world!
Hahaha... How could we be put in such a ridiculous situation?"
"Mister Taylor, this is a bizarre cycle we can never escape from."
With a soft sigh, Luo Ji knew all too well. He had been the last to play the Wallfacer role, but at this moment, his understanding of Wallfacers was no less than Tyler's.
Tyler seemed to sense it was time to let go. He was tired, and this damned fate could only end this way.
Tyler stopped laughing, "Never escape?
No, Dr. Luo Ji, there is a way to escape, a real way, and I came here to tell you about it."
"Oh? Is it suicide?" Lin Sen finally spoke up, with a rather casual tone.
Lin Sen knew that after this laughter, Tyler would, as in the original timeline, choose suicide. He needed to prevent it.
Tyler was shaken all over. It seemed he only then noticed Lin Sen by his side. Not long ago he had learned that Luo Ji had begun his work, and the one advising him was Lin Sen, probably this fellow.
