Chapter 4

After the mysterious middle-aged man said all that, he vanished as swiftly as he had appeared. I had to look twice and make sure that my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. Is he the owner of this place I muttered to myself.

Exploring the vast expanse of this place revealed its multifaceted nature; it had everything one could think of, boasting bars, training areas, and other amenities.

There were some sketchy parts that I hadn't gone into, but that could wait for later; right now, I should memorize the important parts of this place, such as the arena, the dorms, and lastly, the food district.

The scale of this establishment made me question it: how had it remained a secret? Remembering seeing some rich-looking men with masks on, I guessed they were probably the ones behind this.

While exploring, I saw some fierce-looking people. I checked them out, wondering if I could beat them in a fight, and I was confident I'd win if I fought any one of them. they have that similar star mark as mine. I wondered what its all about, but the numbers were a lot lower than mine, and some of them had 2 stars.

Soon, a match was about to start, and I decided to have a look in the arena and see what all the fuss was about.

"AHEM! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! WELCOME TO THE MAIN EVENT!!!

" boomed the announcer's voice."

"THE CURRENT CHAMPION AND THE KING OF G CLUB WILL FACE THE MANDATORY CHALLENGER!"

IN THE LEFT CORNER, WEARING WHITE WITH PURPLE STRIPES, BOASTING A RECORD OF 128 WINS AND 3 LOSSES, HE IS THE NUMBER 1 RANKED FIGHTER IN G CLUB: "GORDON THE KING TORDA."

HIS OPPONENT IN THE RIGHT CORNER, WEARING BLUE WITH GREEN STRIPES, BOASTING A RECORD OF 106 WINS AND 2 LOSSES, IS THE 2ND RANKED FIGHTER IN G CLUB: "MICHAEL THE SPEAR BRAMO."

"There are no rules; killing is allowed, and bets are now open."

There is a screen in the middle of the arena displaying the fighters' profiles and stats.

Gordon's total power is 100, while Michael's scores just shy of that at 99.8.

Hearing the last part of the commentator's announcement gave me goosebumps. A fight that has no rules, and getting killed is part of the experience, that hooked me, and I paid attention to what was going to happen.

The bell rang, and both fighters rushed towards each other, neither of them backing off.

Then the first exchange began, with Gordon throwing the first punch, a nice juicy hook that landed right on the money. But Michael ate it and countered with a mean-looking uppercut that landed perfectly on the jaw.

Observing the fight, I expected Michael to be knocked out cold after taking a hit like that. No, It should knock anyone out cold, but that did not happen at all; he ate it. Gordon followed up with a high kick but missed. But it was not over; soon, a flying knee immediately followed up that rocked Michael, but the fight was not over.

The fight continued relentlessly and for who knows how long, with both of them hitting each other back to back until Michael got dropped. The difference showed: his punches were strong but not as strong as Gordon's, and it was the same with his speed, endurance, and stamina. He was not at the champ's level.

A very close fight, but Gordon won in the end.

I was left in awe after the match was over. Those guys are strong. I want to fight them one day. How do I fight in such matches in the first place? I didn't know, so I asked around, and the answer I mostly got was to head to the arena and register myself first.

I also found out that the numbers and stars indicate our ranking in this place. Gordon is a champion and all, but has 3 stars, the highest one I've seen.

I arrived at the shopping district and stumbled upon a stat checker. Its costs were quite cheap compared to the one in the hospital. I decided to buy one and spend all of my money. I will worry about getting money later. Let's see, I just need a drop of my blood, if I remember correctly. And it worked nice.

Main Stats:

Strength (Str): 8.9

Durability (Dura): 8

Strike Speed (SS): 9.1

Stamina (S): 10

Striking Proficiency (SP): 7

Minor Stats:

Muscle (M): 7

Fatigue (Ftg): 0%

Rank: G

My stats are not bad considering that a normal adult only has an average of 5 points on every stat and what's that rank thing at the bottom anyway? I haven't seen that on the hospital's stat checker.

After fully checking my stats, The paper turned into dust and is gone.

The main problem I'm facing now is that I am broke. So let's solve that first. There are a lot of ways to earn money in this place anyway so I shouldnt worry too much, and fighting is one of them which should be hella fun. And I plan to do it now. I am heading to the arena to register myself as a fighter and fight.

Money runs this place, to food and water, and if I want to get stronger, I need money to train. I need money to buy equipment. Money is needed for everything here.

I went in and registered myself and received a weird-looking green card that had my basic info and my fight record. My first fight will be a week from now thats way longer that what Id expect Im craving to beat someone up right now and have some money but lets calm down and start preparing.

I feel bad for whoever my opponent will be since I am undefeated right now, and it will stay like that till I leave this place.
