The day was finally over and night had come so I retired to my room for the rest of the time.
I stared at a chat with the name - Mr. Sassy rude cold-blooded blue eyes, unsure of what to do.
I previously saved Miles' number on my phone as Mr. Sassy rude cold-blooded blue eyes. I know it's quite a long name but that was the perfect name for him.
The last time we texted each was last night yet, here I was staring blankly at the message bar as if it was my first time texting him.
After several failed attempts of gathering enough courage to send a message, I buried my face into my pillow defeated.
"Ughh," I let out muffled groans. "Why can't I just send something?"
Then, I moved to sit up on my bed and picked up my phone again.
I quickly shut my eyes and sent a message.
"Hi."
Two seconds passed. Five seconds evolved into ten seconds. Ten seconds evolved into twenty seconds.
My heart raced.
What if he was fed up with me and didn't want to reply my text? What if he suddenly thought I was ugly?
What if he had forgotten that I existed? - that would be the worst of them all.
I was almost going into a panic attack when another "Hi" flashed on my screen.
A "What's up?" followed and just as my fingers were about to do their job on my keyboard, a phone call came in from Mr. Sassy rude cold-blooded blue eyes.
Now, the ultimate panic overwhelmed me.
Believe me when I say that I had to do a quick sign of the cross before answering the call.
"Hello," I was the first to speak.
"Hey. How are you?"
"I'm good. You?"
"Good too."
"So..." My lips twisted, half hoping that our conversation would not end there like it always did.
"Wanna get out?" He asked in his usual cold voice.
"I'm already in bed," I replied and glanced at my wall clock that read 7:30pm.
"Alright then," He said as if he wasn't bothered by my indirect response.
"Wait!" I was on the verge of shouting. "I can still come out. W-wh-where can we meet?"
"I'll pick you up at your junction," He replied with a hint of mockery in his voice.
Slipping into a simple shirt and shorts, I made my way out of the house. Mother wasn't too bothered about me leaving our house even after his usual one week stay.
I finally reached the junction of our street once it was 7:51pm. Miles was yet to arrive and it was getting somewhat chilly.
I immediately regretted wearing shorts.
A few minutes passed and I noticed a familiar face walking up to me.
"Shall we?" He asked with both eyebrows raised as soon as he got to me.
For a moment, I was completely speechless. He was in a simple white shirt and blue jeans and still, rocked the outfit to the best.
Perhaps "handsome" was a great understatement.
And his pearl blue eyes glistened under the night sky.
"Excuse me."
What was before me was nothing less than perfection.
"Tilda!"
God just had a way of creating beautiful things that could...
"Miss!"
I jolted out of my thoughts at the snap of his fingers.
"Y-yes?" I widened my eyes to show him that I was back to reality.
"You seem lost," His eyes narrowed to slits. "Or were you just lost in me?"
I scoffed.
"Pfft...me? Lost in you?"
I scoffed once again and waved my hands.
"No way. Let's just go."
He looked at me one last time with those squinted eyes before taking me across the road.
"Why are we heading that way?" I asked, the thoughtsl of him being a kidnapper had returned with full force.
"My car," He said and the backlights of a black car flashes with a beep.
"Oh I see," I nodded and moved to wait at the door of the front seat. What if that was his method of kidnapping me?
Miles got into the car before me. He proceeded to start the car and placed his hands on the steering wheel.
It was then he noticed that I still had not gotten into the car.
"Aren't you going to open the door for me?" I asked as soon as I saw his questioning look.
"Seriously?" He sighed before coming to do as I requested.
"Thank you," I moved to sit at the front seat while he closed the door beside me.
"Now, it shows you're a gentleman," I smiled in addition but got a straight face in response.
Honestly, every joke I made in front of this guy made me feel like I was cringing him out. Was he truly human?
The drive was a smooth and fairly long one as Miles played the best of Tems.
God knows how bad I wanted to sway my body to the tunes but my timidness was always lurking so close whenever I was with him.
Perhaps that was my conscience telling me that he was an evil wizard that I needed to be careful of.
"Are you going to stare at me all the time?" He asked, taking a glance at me from the wheel.
"Staring? Who's staring?" I quickly threw my gaze out the window and that only proved that I was guilty.
Nevertheless, we arrived at our destination which happened to be a simple restaurant.
"Good evening to you sir," The beautiful waitress greeted us. "And good evening to you madam."
"What can I get you?" She asked with a bright smile as she handed over a menu to each of us.
"Um..." Miles twisted his lips as his eyes ran through the items on the menu.
Afterwards, he looked at me.
"I'll take a wrap of sharwama. You?"
"Same," I said and we handed over the menu back to the waitress.
When our orders arrived, it became another trial for me.
My timidness level had finally surpassed a 100%!
I couldn't eat properly in front of Miles. I was conscious of his eyes on me even though everytime I peeked at him, he wasn't even staring in my direction.
In my own world of nervousness, I was shrinking away as the time went by. At the end of the day, I decided to take my sharwama home with him.
What disgrace have I brought upon myself?
"Do you want to take a stroll from here? It would seem nice to walk," Miles proposed.
I simply nodded, yet to recover from my experience at the restaurant.
"Are you fine?" He suddenly asked, his eyes searching my face for an answer.
"Yes," I smiled and gave a thumbs up.
Just then, we came across a small gathering from which loud music was booming.
"Ooo dance battles," I sighed with longing in my tone.
"You dance?" Miles asked.
"Mm. Sometimes. Yes," I replied nervously.
"Go join in," He urged me and despite my vigorous protests, he dragged me towards the group.
"Hey! Anyone else want to battle? Anyone?" A young bare chested boy asked. He was covered in sweat and that made it quite obvious that he had been winning the battles so far.
"She," A voice came and every eyes landed on me and Miles, especially, Miles due to how he looked - The blue eyes and glassy skin.
I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me but what could I do? Miles had already dragged me here.
I stepped into the circle in which my opponent already was.
"Oya drop that banger!" The boy ordered the small dj with all confidence.
The music started.
Street music played first, with a majority being songs by Zlatan, Naira Marley, Mohbad and others.
At first, I was conscious of the people staring, especially, Miles.
God why me?
But when a banger from Naira Marley dropped, I forgot myself. I threw legworks back and forth, backing it up with fire pocoli moves. From there, I ventured into Tilda's own world of dance.
And when Shallipopi's songs came on, trust me, I scattered the dance floor.
My opponent was there sweating from head to toe and throwing back to back aggressive moves as if we were at a Mountain of fire ministries programme. The crowd cheered for us as the battle heated between us.
The Oga of them all was when "Water" by Tyla came on.
If Kiki were to have been here with me, we both would have finished the dance floor with our rapid waist movement.
All the while, Miles was hyping me up.
Gbese!
Gbese!
Gbebodie!
Despite the stares he got because of how he acted in spite of his Akate kind of look, he praised me with a dry expression.
I guess that was enough for me from him.
