The offer (I)

"Huh?" LC Barrack was stunned when he spotted Yebou and his sister approaching.

He had waited the entire day but couldn't get a glimpse of his target's shadow much less the real person. He had even made up his mind to leave in an hour.

However, as fate would have it. When hope was almost lost, the target finally appeared.

"Haha" LC Barrack smiled as he took out his phone and dialed his superior's number.

"Hello Sergeant? This is LC Barrack speaking."

"Yes Barrack, is there any news?" The person on the other side replied. "Yes, Sergeant there is news. The target has finally returned home." LC Barrack replied happily.

"Sergeant? Target? " Are these people from the police force? Yebou became astounded when he overheard one of the men in hiding speaking such words.

Even a normal citizen would have an idea when asked who a Sergeant is. Not to talk of someone who had directly served in the service before.

Even though he is currently not serving in the police force, he had been in the force in his previous life. Therefore, knowledge about the ranks and how they operate, he knew them all.

"He's finally back? Good! Well done. Have your men withdraw from there. I will be there as soon as possible." The Sergeant replied excitedly. He had waited so long for this very day. He had arranged to meet "him" twice now with all being unsuccessful. He couldn't afford to lose him again.

"Sergeant?" LC Barrack was dumbfounded by his Sergeant's eagerness to meet the kid.

He couldn't understand what was going through his superior's mind.

It should be known that it is currently quarter past 8 pm. It could be considered to be almost midnight. It was dangerous for a person of his status to move alone at this time of the night for fear of assassins trying to eliminate him.

Yet, he had disregarded this important point just to meet this kid.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine!" Sergeant Quaye replied calmly. He was well aware of the potential dangers police officers with high ranks could face when they moved alone at this time of the night.

However, If not all, the majority of those scenarios occur in the various cities as they house all the skilled assassins. No skilled assassin would want to carry out a mission in this backward place. It wouldn't befitting of their reputation.

Moreover, just to meet with this kid, he was willing to risk his life for it. He knew well that, the kid had a big potential. Thus, it would be best to earn his acknowledgment. Perhaps, he could even pull him under his wings.

"Yes sir!" LC Barrack saluted as he prepared to order his men to withdraw.

"Oh, so that is how it seems!" Yebou thought as he smacked his head. He had never brought the police into the equation as he had never thought the police would go to such an extent just to meet him.

But after hearing the conversation between those men, he finally had a grasp of the current situation.

"I guess it's about time I meet them," Yebou thought as he proceeded to walk into the house pretending not to have spotted them.

If the police were willing to do this much just to meet him, why not acknowledge their effort?

Unknown to Sergeant Quaye and his subordinate, their conversation had saved them the trouble of searching for their target again.

"It seems he's only good at moving with high speed. His perception is terrible." LC Barrack thought as he watched Yebou walk by him without the slightest care in the world.
