After the incident the other night with Mina, the two met and had a brief conversation, ending things on good terms. After all, Mina entered into the relationship knowing the kind of person Seo Younghee was, and Younghee only agreed because she knew the former wasn't really interested in her and didn't need her commitment.
Unfortunately for Younghee, another issue was going to arise the next day.
-
"What? Wait, what are you talking about?"
"She's here, want me to put her on the phone?"
"..No it's fine. Where are you?"
After telling Younghee what room she was in, Nari completely shuts off her phone and turned to face her classmate. The girl she had seen a few days ago smiled as her as she noticed the other staring. For some reason, Nari felt a creep of unease follow up, the corners of her mouth dropped slightly as she turned away.
The classroom was starting to empty now the lecture was over so she easily caught a glimpse as someone walked in.
"Oh, Sera?" She called out.
"Oh, hey," the girl walked up to her and plopped down on the seat next to her, letting out a deep sigh of exhaustion. "Lecture is over but at least I know where to go next time."
"You're taking this too?"
"Yeah, my professor recommend I take a language."
Yun Sera was one of the first people Nari met in university. Despite being in different majors, the two have quite a lot of mutual friends and get on well enough, mainly because Sera was the extrovert in their friendship. Her bright red hair and height makes her easy to spot amongst people, whether or not they want to see her.
The phone that had been set face down on the table was blowing up once again. Sera looked at Nari and pointed at the phone, "you're not going to check that?"
She shook her head, "it's Younghee."
"Ah..." A smirk appeared on her face. She reached over and grabbed the phone then positioned it so the camera was catching all three of them before clicking the shutter button on the camera. "Send it to her~"
Just as she arrived outside the languages building, a reply finally pops up from Nari. A photo?
"Ha… You have got to be kidding me.." Younghee quivered as she held her phone in her hand.
A brief chat between the 3 later, the 4th finally turned up. A number of expressions flashed across her face as she saw them all sat together and finally with a confused look, she walked up the steps to their seats.
"Hi there," Sera waved, a scoff followed shortly after as Younghee blatantly ignored her.
"Why are you here?" Younghee turned to Ari.
"Nari said you were coming so I waited with her."
The two talked as Nari stared at them, a sorrow look in her eyes.
"You alright?" Sera poked her out of her daydream, leaning sideways on the table to look at Nari.
"..Yeah, why?" Nari knew she was the kind of person to catch onto things quickly, but still, she flashed a smile as if Sera was imagining things.
Before the other could get another question out, Younghee interrupted.
"Nari, let's go."

On their way to the cafeteria, the topic of the class made its way to their conversation.
"Why are you two taking mandarin?"
"I thought you'd take it to be honest," Ari replied.
"Me too."
"What, why? I've never said anything about wanting to learn it."
With that reply, the other two looked away as if something was forgotten. A silence fell among them for a moment before Ari spoke up.
"Never mind, I might've remembered wrong," she laughed it off, a wave of disappointment washing over her expression.
After grabbing lunch and walking the two to their respective next classes, she quickly unblocked a contact and sent a message, asking to meet at the back of the campus. A while later, the sight of red hair appeared in the corner of her eyes.
"Drop the class." A quick demand came from her as Sera stopped a few feet away.
She looked at Younghee then laughed, "and why would I do that? I care about my grades, you know?"
"Don't give me that bullshit, there are other classes you could've taken if you really cared. Drop it."
"What's in it for me if I listen to you?" She raised her eyebrows, expecting a deal.
Younghee glared at the girl, a sentence escaping through her gritted teeth, "I'll talk to my father about your family's business."
"Pfft!" She laughed again, this time a lot more extreme, "ha.. Do you think I'd believe that?" Sera took a step closer to her then raised her index finger and pressed it firmly against Younghee's chest. "Seo Younghee, don't think I don't know how your dad treats you. You're just as disposable to him as every other minion he has, and you want me to believe he'll listen to business talk from you?"
Younghee grabbed a hold of her hand and yanked it off, "do you think with your family's history you can get to him without my help?"
"Ha! He really doesn't care about you at all does he?" Sera scoffed, her relaxed smile making a sense of unease grow in the other. "There's going to be a gathering later this week, to celebrate our family becoming business partners."
"What?"
"I was already considering dropping the class, but seeing how you're so for it, looks like I'm not going to," seeing her in a weaker position, she couldn't help but smirk. "I'm looking forward to seeing your dear little friend every week."

That night
After roughly drying her hair with a towel, Younghee grabbed her phone, deciding to text a mutual friend out of curiosity from the earlier conversation.
: Have I ever talked about wanting to learn chinese?
In Harin: I think a few times back in middle school? Why? Are you going to?
: Really? I don't remember and no but Ari's taking it
In Harin: Oh yeah, you guys used to say you'd learn it together. Anyway, you're back in touch?
: Yeah, same university
In Harin: damn… You did always talk about going there together, WITHOUT ME
: haha, isn't that on you and your grades?
In Harin: …
In Harin: I hate you.
She chuckled a little before placing her phone on the side and grabbing the hair dryer. In that moment, the front door unlocks and the sound of footsteps paired with humming reaches her ear. Putting the dryer on the sink top hastily, before she even knew it, she was stood in front of the brunette, the suddenness coming as a surprise to both.
"Ah.."
They both looked at each other for a moment, eyes blinking in confusion before Ari laughed, "what's wrong?"
Younghee tilted her head before smiling, "nothing, I don't know why I just felt like welcoming you back I guess."
"Haha, thanks," she gave a brief response as she changed her shoes.
As she made her way to the couch, she felt a hand grab her's. Looking back, Bae Ari was met with a somewhat shameful expression. This time, the question that she repeated was sincere.
"What's wrong?"
"Oh... I'm sorry."
Ari blinked, slightly taken back by the unexpected apology, "huh?"
"The mandarin class. I asked Harin and she said we used to say we'd learn it together. I'm sorry I forgot."
A conflicted look fell on Ari's face before she returned to a smile, "it's fine, don't worry about it. You didn't have to ask her."
"Still, I feel bad.. Can I make it up to you?"
Despite the constant reassurance, Ari realised it was useless so finally decided on something.
"Then, spend thursday nights with me."
"What?"
"My family always used to watch movies together on thursdays, but I can't do that lately since watching it alone isn't as fun so let's do that together."
"Are you sure that's enough?"
She smiled, "yeah, so how about it? Movie night on thursdays?"
Her brows softened as Younghee nodded, a sense of security making its way to her heart. The kind of expression Seo Younghee had shown earlier, the face filled with shame and guilt no one else would ever see except her, confirmed the one thing she was unsure about.
She is still her's.
