Chapter Six

After the debacle with the brat, Evan made us walk faster to keep on schedule. We weren't going so fast that we were running, but everyone looked to be having a hard time keeping up.

"Evan, is this the normal pace you go?" I asked, seeing that the donkeys didn't mind the pace.

"It is. I slow down for those that aren't used to walking every day, all day. Helps keep track of everyone." He answered. I smiled, looking at Ellis, who, like me, was keeping up just fine. Morgan was slowing down.

"Brat, take my place for a moment," I told him. He did so as I slowed my pace to Morgan's. Once in front of her, I grabbed her arms.

"Lora?" She whisper gasped. She was out of breath and her legs were shaking. I made her hold her own hands, and I bent forward. She was either too tired to notice what was happening before it did, or was happy about it.
