My uncle's expression was unreadable, his eyes locked onto mine as if he were daring me to continue.
"Lies!" one of the elders shouted, slamming his fist on the table. "This is a serious accusation, Luna. Do you have any proof of this?"
"I understand how shocking this is," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. "But I wouldn't bring this before you without reason. My parents were the leaders of this family, and they were betrayed by someone they trusted—by their own blood."
The murmurs grew louder, rippling through the room like waves. Some elders looked horrified, while others seemed in denial, shaking their heads as if they refused to believe what they were hearing.
Angelo finally spoke, his voice calm but filled with an undercurrent of coldness. "These are very serious accusations, Luna. You're claiming that I, your own uncle, would betray my brother and sister-in-law? That I would commit such an atrocity?"
