Reunification And Revitalization

- - General POV - -

The end of reunification war against the Lunan remnant was coming to an end, what remained of Lunan fell faster than the north did when they fought against Visigoth even the second time, the astonishing capture speed was disturbing news when the surrounding nations came to know of it, for a starter duchy being able to completely conquer even the remaining half of a superior kingdom the news gathered stated that the north had been rung dry but the south was still ready for war but yet it fell simply before the apparently overwhelming might of Julius, even the marshalled armies of Visigoth could not stop him when he was just a mere lord but now...

The nations were still conducting their own build up so they hastily began dispatching envoys towards the newly established nation's capital to quickly create ties with this burgeoning nation before this upstart could turn his unstoppable forces against their own countries.

- - Julius POV - -

The rebuilding of the city was completed in short order and since the land fell to be under Julius's control the craftsmen living within the city had already begun to implement the new technologies Julius had unlocked via his system.

The city roadways were beginning to undergo an upgrade to become that of the Roman roads already being constructed within the Core province of Latinium.

It was only a few days later that the 1st Army under General Haddin's command arrived at the city itself, the force present was lesser than when they left The Eternal City however this was not due to the loss of life, but instead was because garrisons were left behind in the conquered territory to police the population and secure the new borders.

With his army having arrived the general was honestly shocked to find that the Grand Duke National flag was already flying its colour atop the city walls, and long banners hanging down from the main gatehouse announcing the lord's presence within the city.

With his men tired from the long march Haddin quickly rode ahead to see if the city could house all of his men or if they should begin setting up camp.

The sentries on duty informed the incoming general that his forces would be allowed to enter and that barracks had been set up for their stay.

And so much to the shock of Queen Hayna who was still cooped up within her Manor she witnessed yet another army come entering her city, the situation before was unwinnable but now that this second army had arrived it meant that the rest of Lunan must have already fallen as Intin is the furthest city on land from Latinium unless this army marched across Roserun's territory.

Julius was pleased to see his victorious general and made sure to compliment the man in front of his soldiers.

The spoils of war were then presented to Julius who after reviewing the completed dossier of the contents, announced to all his armed forces that the misappropriated wealth of the corrupt nobility would be shared with all who had been taken advantage of!

This was only partially true of course, 25% of the total gained was dispersed equally to both the Lunan and Latinium peoples, and the remaining 75% would enter the Grand Duchy's treasury to be used by the State to continue growing their nation's power.

This port city would become one of Julius's most important strongholds in the coming years, and as such during his time within its walls he had demolished a number of noble manors that no longer had owners and replaced them with massive military structures beginning the creation of a military district, these new buildings we 5 stories high and the top floor could peer over the top of the city's walls albeit only barely, with these superstructures appearing Julius's assembled forces wanted not for living space, and while the inns did regret the loss of coin from their new patrons the soldiers were fairly bad cooks for themselves and still ventured to inns and taverns for meals and drink.

The city's population had been bolstered due to these new arrivals but soon the majority of them would be leaving, a single legion would remain as the guardians of this area, while the other legion would protect the other half of Lunan, Julius's legion would be re-embarking on the ships to once more set sail, however, this time they'd be going the other way until they reached the newly claimed port city of Bridget, along the way, Julius would be sending supply ships back into Nova Carthago to inform of Intin's conquest and the sending of part of the navy to be housed in it's new harbours.

The distribution of its navy might appear to be the overall weakening of Nova Carthago but it was also seen as a security measure, for should an attack happen while they were assembled in one place their defeat would mean the end of their people.

But with the spreading the Carthago peoples could multiply and through this integration into Julius nation happen for once one took root in a new land, returning to a land they once live in would be quite difficult, and well, Julius had promised to reclaim their lands someday but he did not specify when.

Serena had no intentions what so ever to return to Carthage, there was her Home territory of Dolfe sure but with her Mother and Father dead and no siblings who yet lived either.

This might build up resentment from among the remnant peoples of carthage but so long as their Queen survives the people are unlikely to rebel against their sudo lord.
