Breathless

This new sensation I felt when his slightly chapped lips were desperately trying to pry my lips apart–it was divine, surreal. I felt a blast of spark in my chest, the current rapidly coursing through my veins, spreading throughout my body and making me tremble in sheer pleasure.

"Open your mouth," he commanded in a ragged whisper.

I did as he asked. Although embarrassed, I parted my lips, just enough to let out the breath that I was holding.

His lips immediately sealed mine shut and began to move skillfully–every stroke of his jaw precise and succinct–evoking the primal urge from deep within me. I tried to keep up with his pace but my inexperience was painfully obvious.

He suddenly entangled his slender fingers with my hair and jerked my head back. I don't know why my heart raced at that action of his, but it did. I bet my heart rate topped the chart when he nipped my lower lip and whispered, my lip still between his teeth, "Open wider. Let me taste you."

Holy, mother of wolves! How can I not obey him when he asks me like that?

I gulped and widened my mouth despite feeling slightly nervous.

The moment I did, he kissed me hungrily, tangled his tongue with mine, and devoured me like a wolf deprived of food for months. I felt lightheaded as the taste of tobacco mixed with minty essence flooded into my mouth.

The kiss was so hypnotizing that I couldn't resist but wrap my arms around his neck and pull him close. I liked how his rock-hard pecs felt against my soft breasts. I wish we weren't in a car right now. It would have been nice if I could hug him properly, to be precise, it would have been amazing if I could tightly stick to him and feel his toned body.

I was still basking in the bliss of my first kiss when Caleb suddenly pulled away, earning a disapproving groan from me.

He smirked, clearly amused by my reaction, and asked breathlessly, "Shall we go somewhere? I'm feeling too stuffy in the car."

"Sure." I nodded.

He wiped my mouth with his thumb and teased, "You need to reapply your lipstick. I ate it all." He winked mischievously, making me feel embarrassed.

I lowered my head–my untied hair fell, perfectly hiding my face from him–and hurriedly rummaged through my purse to look for my lipstick. "Where did I put it? I'm sure I kept it in my purse."

Caleb had already started the car's engine but I was still looking for my lipstick. Come on! Where is it? Don't make me feel more embarrassed than I already am!

What was that just now? I saw a blur passing through the corners of my eyes, and before I could think what it was, I heard the car's door opening and slamming shut.

Caleb looked over his shoulder and asked, "What are you doing in my car, Julia?" I couldn't sense any trace of the usual sweetness in his voice.

"Julia?" I turned around and saw her antagonistically staring back at Caleb. Er… What's going on? Are they having a silent showdown or something? "Umm… What's wrong, Jul?"

She gave me a look that said "You know what's wrong", but didn't say it out loud. Instead, she handed me my lipstick. "Here. You left it on the table."

Oh, hell no! Did she hear everything? Great! I'm going to hear an earful later, aren't I?

"T-Thank you!" I laughed nervously and took the lipstick from her hand. I pulled the sun visor down and saw Julia's reflection in the mirror–she had resumed the staring contest with Caleb. I decided not to interfere with them and applied the lipstick.

Now what? Why wasn't Julia leaving? I think I know why, but still… I can't face her right now, and I can't withstand the pressure that's building up in the car either.

Caleb sighed, his frustration evident. "Aren't you getting out? I was about to go on a date with my mate."

Instead of answering Caleb or getting out of the car, Julia stubbornly folded her arms and looked at me. "Do I need to accompany you, Val? I'm free tonight, so I don't mind tagging along."

"I do mind. I don't need a third wheel on my date." Caleb retorted before I could say anything.

Again, Julia pretended as if Caleb didn't exist at all. "Will you be okay without me, Val? Can you take care of yourself?" That last part sounded more like a warning rather than a harmless question. She was obviously implying that I shouldn't do something that I might end up regretting later.

I turned my head to look at her and smiled guiltily. "I will be alright. I will be back soon."

"Alright then." She finally glanced at Caleb without any hostility in her eyes and bowed as if she hadn't almost picked up a fight with him moments ago. "Please take care of my sister, Beta Caleb. I will leave for now."

Caleb sneered and rolled his eyes. "You don't have to ask me to care for my mate. She is mine so of course I will do that without you saying it."

"That's good to know." Julia smiled. I noticed how her smile didn't reach her eyes.

She stepped out of the car and waved her hand at me before entering the house. She looked very worried. I guess I am to blame for that. Although I had promised her I wouldn't follow Caleb to his home or some weird places, I almost did exactly that after sharing an intimate kiss with him. Where did he want to take me anyway? Well, it doesn't matter because I'm not going where he initially wanted to take me.

"Caleb…" I gently placed my hand on his knee. He looked like he was trying to calm his anger, but he smiled as soon as he heard my voice. "Can we go to a restaurant? I've never been on a date before so, I want to know what it feels like. And I'm also starving." Like hell I am. I'm still full from the lunch.

Caleb looked at me, surprised. "You've never been on a date before?"

I shook my head.

"What about boyfriends? Did you have any?"

I shook my head again. "How would I have a boyfriend when I never even went on a date?" I pouted.

"Right. That was stupid of me to ask." He laughed. He suddenly caressed my hair and asked softly, "What about the kiss then? Was I your first kiss?"

I felt my cheeks heating up. I shyly looked away and nodded with a smile on my lips.

He came closer and whispered, his lips touching my ear, sending shivers down my body, "How was the kiss?"

"Breathtaking," I whispered back and looked at his neck. I resisted the urge to nuzzle, but I did close my eyes and shamelessly inhaled his intoxicating citrusy scent.

I have a feeling he was very pleased with my answer because he kissed me again, as wild as the first time, making me giddy and leaving me breathless.

I know it's too early to say this but, I might already be addicted to his taste.
