Déjà Vu

As I walked down the long corridor, hand in hand with Caleb and Myra trailing closely behind us, I couldn't help but feel as if I had been here before. The tall walls painted in white felt oddly familiar even though I hadn't walked down this corridor on my first visit to the villa.

What felt even more odd was that I couldn't shake the feeling that I had walked down this very path more than a thousand times before.

Was I feeling this way because I'd already accepted this villa as my forever home?

I clutched my t-shirt with the arm that was in the sling. What was this feeling? I couldn't tell if I was anxious or excited.

Before I could dwell further on it, Myra walked ahead of us and pushed the tall door at the end of the corridor. The door creaked open to reveal a lavish bedroom inside.

The moment my eyes fell on the bedroom, a chill shiver shot down from the back of my neck to my heels, and my whole body instantly went limp.
