CHAPTER 60 - Mutant Tisane I

(Flash Back.....Matthew and his crew)

Jerry was totally reluctant when he was asked by Matthew to accompany him to the NPLC. They were all on break from mutant school and as usual, were given some time to explore the outside world before they would be called back to school.

So he was quite stoked to have a pleasurable time at some hotels with some beautiful ladies and ending it all at the beach as he rides the waves to the sunset. He had it all planned out, until Matthew told him to cancel his plans and tag along with Sabrina and Melissa.

Matthew was regarded as a genius in the mutant school and was respected by a lot of mutants. He was an advanced grade mutant whom Jerry got acquainted with during an inter grade tournament.

Matthew had rescued him from being almost killed by his opponent and because of that, he developed great respect for Matthew. In the mutant school, like every other societal system, you needed someone of a higher status and power to depend on as a way of survival and protection.

Matthew had become that for Jerry. So together with Sabrina whom was a middle grade mutant with Jerry and greatly lusted after Matthew, whereby she later became his lover. Also with Melissa whom was a basic mutant and Matthew's only sister, they formed a close knit team or brotherhood that depended solely on Matthew as it's leader and benefactor.

Because of that, Jerry couldn't refuse Matthew's request for him to tag along with them as they went to the NPLC. Because on the first day of their break from school, Matthew was told by his supervisor that he had been hired by the NPLC(Nigeria Production Limited Company) for a limited period of time before their school break ends.

So, Matthew, together with Jerry, Sabrina and Melissa went to the NPLC to acquaint himself with his employer. Jerry had been hearing about the NPLC even while he was in mutant school. The number one company in Nigeria was said to be a gigantic organization, which was greatly involved with the economical and technological advancement of the country.

Apart from the mutant school, Jerry never believed that any other equally impressive societal and organizational system could exist anywhere. On stepping into the NPLC headquarters building, Jerry couldn't help but be amazed at the artistic display of technology and organization, though not on par with that of the mutant school, but yet quite commendable for mere humans.

They were immediately attended to and accorded great respect as they were shown their rooms to rest before meeting with Matthew's employer whom they were told was in an executive meeting. But before they could get settled down, commotion broke out as they sensed a level of upheaval in the company.

No alarm was sounded, probably due to the intention of not causing any panic or the fact that the cause of the commotion was of a minimal threat and could be handled easily. But as mutants, it was easy for them to hack into the company's footage and database as they updated themselves on the threat level and the company's reaction to the threat.

They were quite surprised as they discovered that a young boy of their age was responsible for the commotion. He was not a mutant, but as they watched him weave his way through the various floors of the building, they noticed that he was quite skilled and persistent enough to overwhelm the groups of security guards that were sent to stop him.

"Who the heck is he?" Melissa asked as she watched the screen displaying the footage of Tisane's fight with the security guards.

"Probably a discontent worker on a suicide mission" Sabrina said with a shrug.

"Whoever he is, he is too much for them to handle" Matthew said with a certain glint in his eyes.

"Hmph, to think that the number one company in the country could be invaded by a mere human youngster like this" Jerry scoffed as he watched the CCTV display with a hint of annoyance in his eyes.

While they watched the CCTV display, Matthew suddenly stood up and said; "Whatever the case, it would look bad on us if this human upstart gets to the top floor and interrupts the meeting of our employer"

"Wait you don't expect us to play security to this clowns do you?" Jerry asked.

"Well one of this 'clowns' have just hired me and I won't stand by while there's a crisis on their hands" Matthew simply said.

"Ok then what do you want us to do?" Sabrina naturally decided to go along with Matthew's decision.

"Well first of all we---" as Matthew was speaking, the bracelet on his wrist began to vibrate greatly. He tapped the bracelet and listened attentively for some seconds before replying at the end; "Very well I understand"

Glancing at everyone in the room, he said; "That was the employer, they have requested me to assist in handling the situation. In other words, they want me to stop the intruder"

"Well this would be quite fun" Melissa said as she stood up with a smile.

"More like annoying, I never expected my first day of school break to be spent playing security guard to a bunch of weak humans" Jerry said with a snort.

"Don't worry Jerry, I'll make this more interesting by torturing our intruder to death" Sabrina said with a wicked smile.

"No killing, the employer specifically stated that he should be apprehended alive" Matthew informed.

"What a bummer, so how does that make it fun for us?" Melissa asked with a pout.

"It's not meant to be fun, it only helps to tally up more points for our mutant school ranking" Matthew said.

As they got out of their restroom, they met some office personnel who approached them and said; "We were instructed to guide and update you concerning the intruder"

"That won't be necessary, all we want to know is where the intruder is now" Matthew stated.

"Huh...uh..well he is at the seventh floor, security guards have been mobilized to intercept and detain him" one of the office workers said.

"In that case, Sabrina" Matthew looked at Sabrina and said; "You will meet him at the seventh floor, but not to stop him, instead, you are to approach him coyly with the pretense of an office worker"

"What would that achieve?" Jerry asked.

"It's just a test of character, I want to know the true behavior and intention of our intruder" Matthew stated.

"Where is the surveillance room for the company building?" Matthew asked the office personnel.

"Um.....at the third floor" one of the office workers replied.

"Very well, you'll take us there, do all the elevators have cameras?" Matthew asked.

"Yes, there are cameras in every section, office and floor of the building" the office worker said.

"In that case, we'll split up from here, Sabrina, get ready and make sure to intercept him before he leaves the seventh floor" Matthew said.

"That may not be necessary, with the number of security guards that we have sent to the seventh floor, it's possible we can apprehend him this time" one of the office workers boasted.

But with the looks that he received from Matthew and his crew, he began to think that he had said something wrong.

In the surveillance room, Matthew, Jerry, Melissa and some of the office personnel watched the live footage which displayed the seventh floor. They watched as Sabrina blended into a group of workers at the seventh floor.

"He has been apprehended!" The office worker who boasted earlier, said as he watched Tisane being caught and surrounded by a large group of security guards. The office worker was about to revel in the thought that his prediction was correct, when he suddenly heard Matthew speak.

"I don't think so" Matthew shook his head.

"What do you mean?" One of the office workers asked.

"Look!" Melissa directed everybody's gaze to the screen, as they all watched Tisane's resistance despite in the midst of his captors.

"Heok!" The office worker who had earlier been excited gave a shocked gasp as he watched Tisane break free from the security guards and dashed out of the office room and into the corridor.

"What a stubborn and determined fellow, I wonder what he's after" Jerry said with a slight frown.

"We'll find out soon enough" Matthew said as he tapped his bracelet and spoke into it; "Sabrina he's headed for the elevator, step in and wait for him there"

The screen then showed Sabrina moving along with two male workers who stepped into an elevator.

"Here he comes" one of the office personnel in the surveillance room said as Tisane was seen rushing towards the elevator which Sabrina had entered.

"This..."

"His decisiveness and level of violence is quite surprising for his age"

Everyone in the surveillance room stared with wide eyed surprise as Tisane was seen beating up and kicking out the two male workers who were in the elevator with Sabrina.

"Switch to the the cameras in the elevator" Matthew said to the office workers who manned the surveillance room controls.

Switching to the cameras in the elevator, they all saw Tisane and Sabrina standing apart from each other.

"What if he tries to harm her?" One of the office workers in the surveillance room asked.

"Hmph, then he'll be as good as dead" Melissa said with a lazy look.
