Ming got out of his car and started walking into the house. Davis wanted to walk her inside, so he followed her. And seeing how amused Grandpa Chen and Lee were. He drew Ming close to him in an intimate position. Then he leaned forward and kissed her passionately. His intention was to give Grandpa Chen a hint that he would be going through with the marriage. But the way they kissed, anyone who saw them would actually think that they were in love with each other.
Ming's heart was racing fast against her chest; she didn't understand what was going on. Isn't this the Davis who just told her that he isn't capable of falling in love with her or with anyone else?
Davis withdrew himself from her. She just looked at him, speechless. "Have a nice day," Davis said, turning to leave. Ming wanted to say something, but she didn't know what to say, so her lips were left parted as she watched Davis leave.
She walked towards the house and greeted her grandfather and Grandpa Chen. Then I entered the house. The rest of the day, she couldn't stop thinking about Davis and about the fact that he wanted to marry her. She knew it wasn't out of love, but still, Davis could have chosen any other lady, so it was nice that it was her that he wanted.
Davis, on the other hand, didn't think much about Ming. He had a class to attend, and that was what his focus was on. When he arrived at Starship University, he quickly went to his dorm and had a change of clothes, then went to his class.
When he got into the class, everyone was looking at him and all wanted him to sit beside them. Davis, aware of this, just scoffed; none of them wanted to be his friend when he was poor; instead, they would all mock him by calling him a poor twerp.
Davis sat down in an isolated chair, and immediately everyone rushed to sit down beside him. But unfortunately for him, the person who got to sit next to him was Rita. He wanted to stand up, but that's when the lecturer walked in and demanded that no one should disturb his class.
During the lectures, Rita kept on making flirtatious glances and body language towards Davis. This got him so uncomfortable that when the lectures were over, he was the first person to leave the class.
Rita followed him outside, but he pretended not to notice her presence. "Babe, where are you going?" Rita asked.
Davis turned and faced her. "Rita, just stop it, okay? You already have a boyfriend, so just go and make his life hell and leave me alone!". Davis said it aggressively.
"I may be with Giovanni, but you're the one that I'm in love with. You know that it has always been you." Rita said.
"No, Rita, you love money, not me, but I no longer care. Ever since you broke my heart, I have been incapable of loving anyone, especially you," Davis said, about to get into his car.
But Rita stopped him by moving close to him and kissing him. Davis's first thought when Rita kissed him was about Ming. All of a sudden, he found himself comparing everything about Rita to Ming.
"Now tell me you didn't feel that," Rita said.
Before Davis could answer, Giovanni drove his car and crashed it into Davis's car. He grabbed Rita's hand and dragged her away from Davis.
"What are you doing, kissing my girlfriend? "You may be rich now, but don't think that you can still keep her away from me. Giovanni yelled, upset that he had to see Davis and Rita in a lip lock.
Davis looked at the damage that Giovanni had caused to his car and glared dangerously at him. "Bastard," he muttered.
"Come on, babe, let's go," Giovanni said, dragging Rita by the arm.
"Giovanni! What the hell did you have to ruin the car?" Rita yelled.
"What do you care, whether I ruin his car or not?" Giovanni said and kept on walking with Rita, who just followed him reluctantly.
Davis let them walk away; he didn't want to cause a scene, and he knew that that would be carried by the news and would leave a bad review of his credibility.
He wanted to go to the industry, but since his car was ruined, he couldn't drive it. He thought for a while, then picked up his phone to call his butler.
During the first ring, his butler picked up. "Hello, young master, I was beginning to think that you have forgotten about me."
"I can't forget about you, Mr. Roland. Aside from Ursula, I see you as my other genuine friend. Anyway, I had a little bit of car trouble, and I was wondering if you could drive me somewhere," Davis said.
"Sure thing, young master, just text me your location, and I'll be there."
"Thanks," Davis said, hung up, and texted his location to his butler just as he had instructed.

The Chen's Enterprises are part of the Chen's group of companies, which Grandpa Chen had made Brendon and Jude temporary CEOs of. Jude walked into the building and met Brendon, who was talking with some lawyers. Brendon has always been the one more in-depth with the company, while Jude was more carefree and just enjoyed the dinging sound his phone made when he got a credit alert for the profits that the enterprise made that day.
But there was something appealing to him about going and finding out what Brendon was discussing with the lawyers.
"Hey bro, what's going on?" He asked curiously.
"I want us to sell the company," Brendon replied.
"What!!" Jude asked, not believing what his ears heard about what he just heard.
"Listen to me," Brendon said, shifting away from the lawyers; Jude also did the same. "Listen to me; once Davis gets married, grandfather is going to will the group of companies to him, and that's going to include this one. But if we sell this one, then Davis won't be able to get it. While we would get to keep the money from selling it, Brendon said.
Jude understood what he was saying, but the idea of losing the enterprise wasn't sitting right with him. "How much do you intend on selling it?" Jude asked.
"One trillion dollars," Brendon said. Hearing this amount changed Jude's mind completely, and he became totally on board with the idea.

Mr. Roland picked Davis up and dropped him off at the industry just as he had wanted... When Davis got into the building, he could hear people talking about the enterprise that Brendon and Jude wanted to sell. At first, he didn't believe it; he thought it was just rumors, but when he heard it from the board during the board meeting, he had no choice but to believe it.
He was angry because he knew the enterprise was a valuable asset, maybe even more valuable than his industry. Pissed off that they wanted to throw all of that away by selling it, Davis decided to be the one to buy it.
He knew that he didn't have up to one trillion dollars in his arsenal, so he asked the board if he could add some of the industry's funds to his own to be able to buy the enterprise. They didn't agree with him because if they gave that amount of money away from the industry, it would wind up on the verge of going bankrupt.
Wanting Chen's enterprise to continue having Chen's name, Davis decided to go and meet his grandfather. He figured if anyone had up to one trillion and more, it was definitely him.
He left the industry; Mr. Roland had driven off, so there was no one to drive him to where he needed to go. He thought of calling Mr. Roland again, but he was his butler, not his personal driver. He started walking slowly, hoping to board a cab.
Then a car stopped beside him, and the back seat popped open. "Hey D, do you need a ride somewhere?" Ming voice came out of the backseat and asked him.
At first, he wanted to say no, but he knew it would be more convenient if he let her drive him. So he got in and sat beside her. And as anyone would expect, she was wearing a warm smile across her face.
"Thank you," Davis muttered as he got in.
"Mmh," she hummed and nodded her head as her own version of saying you're welcome. "Simon, you may continue," she said to her bodyguard, who happens to also be her driver.
This time while they drove, it wasn't in complete silence; they made small conversations, like Davis telling her about himself and about New York, and vice versa.
Davis alighted the car when they arrived at the Chen manor, where Grandpa Chen lives. "Do you want me to come with you?" Ming asked.
"No need," Davis said, then went in.
The house was empty. He figured that Ursula would be at her boutique, while her brothers would be at the enterprise. After taking a few steps, he realized that he didn't know his way around the building, except for the dining room, which he had been to before.
He walked around the house for a while, searching for Grandpa Chen. He walked up the stairs. Then he heard Grandpa Chen talking. He moved closer to the direction of the voice and found out that he was on a phone call.
He was about to barge in on him, but slowed down when he heard his conversations.
"I don't care about what they claim to know; if they were seen meeting with the Changs, then they are a threat, and you know what we do to threats.". Unsure of what Grandpa Chen was talking about, Davis leaned further to hear even better, but accidentally knocked a vase down, and it broke.
When Grandpa Chen became aware that he wasn't alone in the house, he started speaking in Chinese. If his conversation that Davis heard wasn't already suspicious, then switching his English to Chinese definitely was.
Grandpa Chen hurriedly finished his conversation, then hung up the phone. "Is anyone there?" he asked. He didn't get any feedback, but he was convinced that he wasn't alone in the house. Especially when he saw the broken vase that was on the floor, which Davis had knocked down.
Davis didn't want his grandfather to know that he heard his conversations; he didn't even want him to know that he was in the house. But Grandpa Chen was on to him, and he had very few options... He used his phone and decided to call his grandfather.
Grandpa Chen heard his phone ring; he didn't want to pick it up, but when he saw that the caller was Davis, he changed his mind and picked it up. "Hello, my boy," he said jokingly. "What gives me the honour of hearing from you this fine evening?" he asked.
He needed to stall his grandfather long enough so he could leave the house undetected. But he didn't even know his way around, and that wasn't helping matters. Davis thought for a while about what to say: "Um... I just wanted to let you know that Ming agreed to marry me," he stuttered while he spoke.
"That's great to hear, but I think that I already knew when I saw you two kiss. It was a nice scene, by the way. Anyway, we will talk more about it when next we meet." His grandfather said that and hung up.
Davis was trapped in a room; he couldn't come out or his grandfather would see him, and there was no way to escape except for a window. But he couldn't jump through it because the room he was in was a storey high.
Grandpa Chen was about to go into the room where Davis was. Davis didn't know what to do; he was caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. He thought as his heart raced uncontrollably... What is Davis going to do now?
