Chapter 43

They finally approached the front desk and Lisa put down the books she wouldn't be needing anymore.

"You're from the second row, aren't you?," the woman that sat behind the front desk asked and Lisa nodded slowly.

They had never asked questions like these when she was leaving the local library she used to attend and she wondered if there was anything going on that made them ask her this question.

The woman shook her head.

"Then, you can't leave with your library card," she told her.

Lisa blinked, she was still quite confused as to what this woman was saying to her.

"Why would I leave without the library card? Isn't it mine?," she asked.

The woman gave her a look.

"Well, you were laughing and making inconsiderate noises, that's enough reason to ban your use of the library card. You can leave it behind and come back to get it in one month's time when you must have learnt your lesson," she said to Lisa.
