Death of a shining star

**Wedding Night

 _Golden city hall_**

The entire city's attention was now focused on the Yun family since they would officially be the first people in the history of the heavenly flame city to confer ties between the Heavenly flame dragon clan and the Sky inferno dragon clan, this was going to be a great moment of history because two powerful nations would be coming together as one, it was even rumored that the Sky inferno clan had direct access to the true Dragons that rescied in the mystic star realm.

(Note: The people from the Dragon clan are simply human cultivators with the ability to cultivate dragon techniques which will eventually give them the false bloodline of a dragon. But Dragon cultivators from the mystic star realm are true dragons who had cultivated long enough to transform into humans.)

Standing at the very front of the hall was Yun Tian who watched the arriving guest with a calm smile on his face, admiring the success he had finally achieved all through the brief fifteen years of his life, never had he imagined that such success would come so fast, not only had he gotten himself a wonderful bride, but he had also gotten himself an opportunity to enter the Mystic star realm and enter the Ancestral dragon chamber. Not only that, but both Patriarchs from the two Dragon Clans would be attending his wedding and many influential figures would be present as well.

Dum...! Dum...!

The beating of drums immediately woke Yun Tian out of his fantasy because the entry of the bride was just about to begin. Music filled the air as the musicians went into full throttle, everyone was all smiles the moment Mei Lian and her father; the patriarch of the Sky Inferno Dragon Clan, walked down the Isle... Yun Tian didn't even glance at his soon-to-be father-in-law and only focused on his soon-to-be bride whose face had been totally covered by a masking veil.

Silence immediately took over the hall the moment the priest appeared, not just to respect the event alone but because this was a priest from the Holy Church; a dreaded Sect that had influence in the Mystic star realm. Noticing the priest's arrival, Yun Tian calmly gave a glance at his father but noticed that even he was shocked as well, meaning that the arrival of the priest must have been made possible by the Mei family.

The priest was a middle-aged man who looked good for his age, he had completely white hair and wore white robes with a gentle smile present on his face. As he approached the couple, both immediately showed expressions of respect. The priest gazed at the two for a while and flashed a look of pity at Yun Tian, before moving on to call out Mei Lian's Vows...

"Young Lady, Will you have this young man to be your husband, to live together in holy marriage? Will you love him, comfort him, honor him, and keep him in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?"

"I do."

Replied Mei Lian with her face still covered which made Yun Tian quite a bit expectant. Nodding his head, the priest immediately focused his gaze on Yun Tian before calling out his own marriage vows.

"Young Man, Will you have this young woman to be your wife, to live together in holy marriage? Will you love her, comfort her, honor her, and keep her in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?"

With a smile, Yun Tian was about to say "I do" when a loud blast echoed throughout the hall and a beam of yellow light charged straight toward Yun Tian's face, he was about to dodge but it was already too late for anything to be done because that strike was just too fast.

Puff...! Ah...!

Yun Tian yelled in pain the moment that blast hit his face because his eyes had been completely blinded.

"My eyes!"

Yelled Yun Tian in pain as blood slowly dripped down from his face, that attack simply came in the form of light, yet it dealt a lot of damage that was completely and skilfully set for only his eyes.

Bang...!

One of the glasses of the hall broke into pieces as another strike hit Yun Tian's lower abdomen which was where all his cultivation strength was gathered, this time, he didn't just yell, he screamed before passing out due to extreme pain, not just emotionally, but mentally because he knew what a broken Datain meant, his cultivation journey was over, and everything that he had struggled to build had come crashing down. He fainted with tears and blood dripping from his eyes. Total chaos descended within the hall as people rushed out for their lives, Yun Tian's body got continually jerked by his crying mother who sat by his side in anguish and despair.

**THREE DAYS LATER.**

 _**Yun family residence_**_

Inside a small room that only consisted of a bed, table, and two stone chairs, Yun Tian lay down on a bed made completely from smooth stone, two pairs of incense were also burning at his side, and his body lay face up on the bed with not so much as a twitch.

Huuuu...!

Yun Tian immediately jerked up from the bed while panting hard... Calming down a bit, he quickly inspected his eyes and realized that he was completely blind, with shaky movements he brought his hands right in front of his face to check if he could see them but it bore him no fruit. An idea quickly popped up in his mind and he immediately tried to heal himself with the Elemental Qi stored up in his body, but it was to no avail because his Datain had been completely destroyed. Right now he was an ordinary Human being, not even worthy to be called a human cultivator, not only had he lost everything, but he had also become a disgrace before the entire city. He was sure that his father would have been completely ruined by now, and not even the elders could help him heal at this moment.

Ahhhhhhh...! Yelled Yun Tian in heart-throbbing pain as his voice faded into the dark.

**DRAGON COUNCIL CHAMBERS.**

Yun Duyi walked with heavy steps as he drifted away from a finely decorated gate covered in vines, his face seemed to have aged in just three days and the usual glow present in his eyes was totally gone. Not only had he lost all his glory, but even his chances of becoming the next patriarch of the Yun family had been completely destroyed, even his allies had lost faith in him. All this anger was of course unleashed on his innocent wife and other maidens back at home. It could be said that he was fully into the business of drinking...
