When Alexandra finally married her childhood crush at the age of 25, she didn't expect that she would one day catch another woman in the arms of her husband while she hid in the bedroom closet. “Let’s go,” Caleb demanded as he grabbed Alexandra by her wrist without a warning, pulling her away from the chaos and out of the ballroom in a matter of seconds while both Ethan and Hannah watched them leave with a smug smile on their faces.

“Why are we the ones leaving?” Alexandra questioned, yanking her wrist out of his grasp as soon as they were out of their sight, just the two of them hidden behind a wall somewhere. 

Caleb let out a deep breath. “I have my reasons, Al. Trust me.”

“Well, they can’t just -”

“Hey, hey listen.”

He was now looking down at her with both hands on her shoulders as she had her back pushed up against the wall, their faces only a few inches apart. “What?” 

A smirk etched itself onto his face. “I promise they will regret everything they had said earlier.”

“How so?”

“You’ll find out soon.”

Alexandra appeared stunned by his sudden accusation, her eyes wide and her lips parted in surprise. A frown crept between her brows as they furrowed together in immense concentration. The gears in her head started spinning as she tried to conjure the perfect reply, planning her next steps right there and then.

Of course, she didn't expect her little pregnancy act to be exposed by anyone. In fact, the thought didn't even cross her mind back then. She mistakenly thought that her plan was fool proofed, that there was no way someone like Ethan or Hannah would have found out on their own, and definitely not her parents either.
