Chapter 62: Perfect Timing

"You know what, she doesn't deserve you anyway. You are better off without her," Hannah commented, her voice laced with venom as she spat the words out of her lips.

He was sitting next to her in the bed they shared. He didn't cry or scream that day, only letting the feeling of pain and regret gnaw at him for a while, drinking to drown his sorrows.

Hannah had her arm slung over his shoulders, as she pulled him closer to her, letting him rest his head on her shoulder. A smirk started to tug at the corners of her lips as she continued to rub his back soothingly, a million thoughts racing through her mind.

Deep down in the hollow of her heart, she felt happy, knowing that she finally had Ethan back by her side, wrapped around her fingers this time.

He didn't say anything, a moment of silence lapsed between them. "You will be alright, I will always be here for you," her soft and gentle voice reached his ears as he let out a soft sigh of relief.
