When Alexandra finally married her childhood crush at the age of 25, she didn't expect that she would one day catch another woman in the arms of her husband while she hid in the bedroom closet. But there she was, anger, betrayal, and sadness washed over her all at once as she stared at her husband and the woman who had the same dark brown eyes and dark hair as her. That same night, she stumbled onto the beach and before she knew it, she was sitting across the table from her high school ex, Caleb, looking down at the terms of their marriage contract that he drafted up hastily. 

Fuelled by anger and betrayal by the people she once loved, Alexandra knew she had to take things into her own hands. Together with Caleb, they plot her revenge.

“Let’s go,” Caleb demanded as he grabbed Alexandra by her wrist without a warning, pulling her away from the chaos and out of the ballroom in a matter of seconds while both Ethan and Hannah watched them leave with a smug smile on their faces.

“Why are we the ones leaving?” Alexandra questioned, yanking her wrist out of his grasp as soon as they were out of their sight, just the two of them hidden behind a wall somewhere. 

Caleb let out a deep breath. “I have my reasons, Al. Trust me.”

“Well, they can’t just -”

“Hey, hey listen.”

He was now looking down at her with both hands on her shoulders as she had her back pushed up against the wall, their faces only a few inches apart. “What?” 

A smirk etched itself onto his face. “I promise they will regret everything they had said earlier.”

“How so?”

“You’ll find out soon.”

That familiar voice easily caught both of their attention. Their heads snapped toward the source of the voice in an instant and everything seemed to fade into the background.

The storm outside seemed to pause momentarily as if even the elements awaited the unfolding drama. Caleb stood in the doorway, his presence commanding attention. His dark hair was damp, stuck to his forehead as water dripped down his head and his clothes were completely drenched from the pouring rain. With a smirk playing at the corners of his lips, his eyes flickered with a mixture of amusement and challenge, taunting Ethan.

Alexandra rose from her chair, her voice breaking the silence that settled between them. "Caleb!" she exclaimed, her eyes lit up immediately. Seeing the look on her face and the way the corners of her lips curled upwards into a smile only fuelled the anger inside of Ethan who was watching silently.
